I agree with you on Accountability Now and that Leiberman should be very high on the list of those to be targeted. It amazes me, how many egregious antics or political stunts he has accomplished and gotten away with. He is beneath being scum.

I am just so familiar with Hoyer and would like to nominate him as a target. I've been writing emails (understandably very offensive) to him for as long as I can remember and have never received a response.

In my mind he was a huge Bush supporter and is oblivious to plight of his constituency, yet as he runs virtually unopposed every election.

"-what kind of person would I be?"

You're right, you wouldn't have much value as a good human being.

The people who rationalize and justify such outrageous slander, which denigrates and debases another individual because of their race or social position or to obtain a feeling of superiority suck.

I'm always reminded of really cruel self-serving behavior when someone totally destroys another person, mocking them and ridiculing them, and then with a very self-satisfied smirk on his/her face says, "just kidding."

Thanks for the article.

I think the same criticisms are true for Friedman but instead of the lobbyists it's the Wall Street nabobs. Of course there are others, it's just that I'm so used to reading the Times, these 2 guys stick in my craw.

You're a regular factory of ironic statements.

Truly, one of the best comments, ever!

As always, thanks for your post.

As always I am confused and bewildered by Obama's actions. I keep saying to myself, this guy can't be just another politician. He just seems so much better than that. Yet so many things he is doing lead me to believe otherwise. I hope there is more behind his moves and the truth will be forthcoming in the future.

Obviously, even with all my fears, I feel we are a hell of a lot better off than we were over the last eight years. And then there is Leahy and Whitehouse and Conyers. There is a tad bit of hope, I hope.

Where's the beef? Where's the change?

Obama says“I don’t think that people should be fearful about our future,” he said. “I don’t think that people should suddenly mistrust all of our financial institutions.”

Well, I for one, am very fearful about our future. I also think people should mistrust our financial institutions. What they did is called greed and self-preservation of that unseemly monetary grasp of money and a complete lack of compassion for their fellow man.

I feel we can't move forward until we resolve the habeas corpus issues, the attempted destruction of the constitution and torture. Obama would rather look forward rather then rectify the crimes of the past Bush administration. I don't buy it. His DoJ appears to be the same as Bush's.

I am completely stunned at the outreach to the republicans when their only response is to be not only negative but ridiculous, like initiating a spending freeze.

Where's the change we can believe in? I sure don't see it and have no confidence in this president.

I once had hope but everyday seems to bring another continuance of a Bush policy.

Thanks for the article.

Over and over again you point out how corrupt and selfish our country's government and the MSM have become. We live in an epoch that is reprehensible. A time when some of our country's politicians are committed to repulsive acts. These politicians are supported by a group of journalists in and around DC; together they band into a cohesive group defending the indefensible, war crimes and utterly unrestrained greed.

I not only see that there isn't any progress in things getting better, they seem to be getting worse and Obama seems to be more and more on the side of Bush policies.

Most dishearteningly, Obama and his DoJ agree on doing things the way they have always been done and only want to "move forward." They seem to be making a case for war crimes.

I enjoyed the bit Stewart did on CNBC. I would love to see him do something similar to the Obama administration and congress and the MSM relative to war crimes and the destruction of the constitution.

I hope that there could be some sort of uprising to let the Obama administration know that many people feel totally disheartened. But i realize that wish is as realistic as John Yoo getting fired.

I really enjoy reading your posts. They are well-thought out, well-written, to the point and always on-topic. I appreciate your contributions.

"I judge people by their actions, not words. And his actions have been quite revealing."

So True!

I was so wrong, thinking he was different, and generating hope in him.

Alas!

"We don't need revenge. We need truth."

We need justice! But Obama in not going to pursue justice because he wants to move forward.

Can that really be? I just don't get it!

Something is amiss!

Oh, now I understand, he is just a slick, glib politician. Wow, was I completely played for a fool.

Alas, woe is me!

Financial porn?

I don't think so. I totally enjoy watching it because I've been out of the market, except for gold options, since the early fall of 2008. I thought the market was collapsing and followed the general consensus that gold would be extremely volatile.

It's called schadenfreude!

I don't watch Cramer but I never miss Kudlow. Every single night that he is on, he finds reasons to believe that the free enterprise system is working. And that tax cuts will make everything even better. This happens every single night regardless of what happens in the world or the markets.

Every time the Dow goes down another 1,000 point, he says "now is the time to pick up remarkable bargains."

It is great humor!
