She was one of the main players in the Bush administration's pursuit of evil. She chaired the meetings that approved torture. She was a prime player in the killing of a million innocent Iraqis who did nothing to deserve their death. Thousands upon thousands of innocent Iraqis were rounded up and tortured by the "liberators," because of her.
She adored an idiot-president and was manipulated by "Vice."
She was responsible for countless incompetent decisions that drove the USA into hell. I don't understand how a war-criminal, a hater of mankind, can be admired and listened to.
I initially viewed Clinton as a highly intelligent person who would do the "right thing" for the country. Today, of course, I don't feel the same way. He is an highly-flawed egomaniac, proven by the way he performed so negatively is the past campaign. His rationale was that his feelings were hurt.
I think Monica and the fact that he told bold-faced lies to cover it up was extremely upsetting. I still think he was a good president, despite Monica and his use of the White House as a motel.
But his most egregious act was the pardon of Marc Rich. I am extremely concerned because Eric Holder, per the MSM, is being considered for Attorney General. It seems to be the consensus evaluation that the Marc Rich pardon would have never occurred if Holder had not used his influence.
If Holder becomes AG then I would be very upset, as I was with the FISA vote.
I recognize that Obama and I are going to have serious disagreements.
Politics is something I don't understand and the ugly parts of it I have difficulty dealing with.
I have thought some on this issue and have sort of steeled myself to the fact that Obama tends to be a centrist and wants to bring everyone to the table. IMHO that attitude is going to give the war-criminals a free ride, which is disgraceful.
What I am hoping for is some kind of investigation with everyone granted immunity to uncover what actually happened and who was responsible. Then enact some laws to prevent the events that occurred in the last eight years from happening again.
I can't anticipate what will happen but it will indeed be sad to let the sins go unpunished and uncovered.
I thank Glenn Greenwald for his fine writing and dedication to uncovering the truth. I wish there were 10 more of him.
I maintain that HRC never accomplished anything of note. She was just an outright liar and that was her primary undoing. She also ran a slimy, thoroughly incompentent campaign, doing things the repugnant "old-way." Down and dirty and the hell with ethics and morality and other such nonsense!
Thank god Obama came along or the country would be in real trouble.
Someone commented that Camile Paglia is "dumber than dirt."
I think that someone is too kind!
Obama wants to lead "all the people," and he's willing to compromise his principles. I can see where he's coming from and sense what he wants to accomplish, but is sure is difficult for me to swallow.
I agree with Maddow and disagree with Bayh. But I think Bayh is echoing what Obama wants to do. But Lieberman does what he wants to do and will gladly screw the democrats. I think Bayh and Obama are making too much of the need for Lieberman's vote on key issues. I say screw him because he is not a democrat. He looks like a republican and quacks like a republican and waddles like a republican. He is devious and speaks with a "forked tongue."
The next thing that bothers me is the whole issue of war crimes. I sense that Obama is not going to punish the war criminals and that is hugely depressing. Maybe investigate them, but they'll walk, with Bush's blanket pardon. That's so unfair!
My first disappointment was FISA and then he tolerated the slime the repubs threw at him and even understood their reasons for their gutter-spewing crap.
I tell myself that he is a very smart guy and knows the hand he is playing but it is very difficult to accept.
It's repulsive that no one is going to pay for the massive incompetence and greed and cruelty that has occurred over the last eight years.
Life is a historic battle between the haves and the have-nots.
The have-nots have to be thrown down into a seemingly bottomless pit before they revolt.
The haves, notably the Bushies, have had their way for eight years, trying in implement what they had planned for the prior eight years. Which was to rule the world.
Now they are going back to be planning for the next time they get in control.
They know that the wealthy democrats secretly agree with them and that they will walk freely from the atrocities that they committed.
C'est la vie! It is the way of the world and life.
Glenn Greenwald is the only person I am aware of that is protesting meaningfully. The ACLU and other organizations have been saying the same old things for so long they are completely ineffective.
