...but hockey still sux; i guess i am a moron, but everytime i try to watch it, i don't understand (nor *get*) such basic stuff as 'icing', and the blueline bullshit, etc...

(not to mention, its not like we had hockey in gradeschool phys-ed, so most of us would have firsthand experience in playing it/enjoying it...)

no wonder most of the games end up 1-0 or 2-1 (*yawn*); maybe if you jettisoned that 'icing' crap, you'd actually mix it up and have some decent amount of scoring, rather than slow wrestling matches on skates...

there are a dozen other niche sports i'd rather watch (including curling), than a bunch of rugby players on ice who can't score, but have mastered the 'fine art' (*snicker*) of whacking each other with sticks *just short* of violations...

as a general rule, *ANY* sport where there are not sufficient scoring opportunities is going to be (rightly) perceived as dull; and *only* those who were born/raised with the sport (or are contrarians) 'love' said dull sports...
