Original article: "Brothers"

that's two r's, tomredton...

1. guerrilla, thank you...

2. i've read more jay eff kay books -including posner's, a *very* slimy creature, by the way- than you know exists... if you'd like, i can cite some books for your knowledge beyond posner's slick mis/disinformation...

3. i DON'T have an OUNCE of kennedy hero-worship in my old bones: REGARDLESS of what i *speculate* were *some* genuine respect and aspirations for the great unwashed on the part of the kennedy's in general, and jay eff kay/are eff kay in particular, i don't give a shit about their legacy or political battles... first and foremost, they were power elite players, whatever real or faked sympathies they had for the hoi polloi are almost beside the point...

the POINT was this: a secretive cabal practicing deep political machinations, arranged the assassination of a president... THAT is a fundamental (if not fatal, no pun intended) abrogation of thisy here democrazy and the duly authorized processes...

4. are you going to maintain that political assassinations don't exist ? are you going to claim that WE will and have arranged for the unfortunate demise of third world leaders who are merely inconvenient for certain bidness and geopolitical strategies, but the idea of rich, reichwing reactionaries murdering a sitting president is beyond the ken ? and, finally, are you saying we just simply should ignore those instances where there are STRONG intimations of k-k-k-konspiracy ? ? ? (i know, its such a scary word/concept; you've internalized the memes very well...)

5. you probably find it easy to accept that one kid will kill another kid over a hundred dollar pair of sneakers, or simply for looking at them the 'wrong way'; but a korporate kingpin arranging a contrary politician's downfall (whether by scandal or death) when millions, billions or trillions are at stake is just not possible ? ? ? wake up sheeple, we see only the cast shadows and faint traces of power elite machinations which operate below the visible surface ALL THE TIME...

bravo, BRAVO ! ! !

1. bebop-o, you are causing my cerebellum and cerebrum (sarah's bell, um, and broom ?) to twist around each other like a dna-helix, i loves it...

2. sysprog, you rule, dude (dudette)...

3. little-m, winner of The Best Summation/Analogy award for the most concise, cogent, and complete explanation of the issue at hand... no red star? bad salon... *tsk*tsk*

4. yet another reason why i believe that retaking/remaking the MAINSTREAM media (it Has To reach All the sheeple) is the number one priority in regaining a real, true, properly functioning democrazy...

oh, i almost forgot:

fuckity fuck fuck fuck...

(for all you babbits and censorious saloonists...)

please, oh wise and mighty CENSORS, don't tread on me...

(fuckin' jerks)

1. PAPER BALLOTS

2. HAND COUNTED

3. LOCALLY REPORTED

there it is, that's the voting system we need to REinstitute an open and auditable process which is NOT amenable to computer-based system's fraud-at-the-click-of-a-mouse...

(*NOT* that it is a 'fraudproof' system, but that it requires a widespread and -probably- detectable level of corruption and cheating that would involve w-a-y too many people to make it a practical system of defrauding elections on a largescale basis...)

further, the MERE fact of slime-pig rethugs pushing this non-issue, only serves to confirm the broad spectrum election fraud they have perpetrated during coup 2000/2004/2006, and how they are trying to both muddy the waters, and accuse their adversaries of the very crimes they commit...

(really, simply astounding how they CONTINUALLY have their way with the mainstream media -and most others, as far as that goes- in (falsely) accusing their opponents of the crimes and dirty schemes they themselves are guilty of ! ! !)

although it hardly bears mentioning, once again the bizarre method of how/why salon picks the choice postings is beyond mere mortals to analyze...

a 'star' for saying 'no' to election holidays ? ? ? by extrapolation from one of the very few times such an occurence happened, *and* linking it to some local elections which probably had no meaning, *that* is the conclusion one draws from that singular experience ? ? ? um, that is insane...

since we have NOT had a national holiday for election day, HOW does that explain low voter turnout (not to mention registration) that we DO HAVE ? ? ?

contrary to the idiotic ASSERTION that this would inevitably turn out to be the case, there ACTUALLY HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS instances of voters who had to leave because they had to go to work, and thus DIDN'T vote...

(now, let us graciously leave aside how/why those unfortunate voters were waiting hours and hours to vote; although that is part and parcel of the full-spectrum election fraud practices of repugs...)

gee, i wonder if it is the publisher's pet hobbyhorse that 'we' (sic) shouldn't have an election holiday, and *that* is why an otherwise stupid idea gets starred...

similarly, is it salon's position (again reflected in an unmerited star) that the holt bill is a 'good' bill ? ? ? one might think so; however, our holt fan only mentions the one provision of the bill which is 'okay', and forgets the rest of it, which is a sellout...

IN SHORT: computer-based voting systems ARE -and will forever remain- eminently defraudable in MANY ways, in MANY points of the process, and by means virtually -if not really- undetectable...

let's try this again:

1. PAPER BALLOTS

2. HAND COUNTED

3. LOCALLY REPORTED

anything short of that, is only perpetuating a defraudable system...

wake up, sheeple, the election process has been compromised on so many levels, that we do NOT have a fair, transparent, and auditable system of what is -supposedly- the bedrock value of a democracy...
