1. as another poster pointed out, he was a 'bad boy'/asshole at the academy, and -apparently- none too bright, only scraping by as a legacy sop...

2. again, ONLY as a result of his father's influence/etc, was he able to get into being a pilot...

3. he crashed how many planes doing stupid shit ?

4. he KILLED how many OF HIS OWN (40-50, plus another 100+ wounded)on the forrestal when he -apparently- did a stupid, macho, stunt of 'wet lighting' his jet in front of another jet (figuratively lighting a fart on his 'buddy'), setting off his buddies missle, which then set off mccain's overweight bombs... ain't it cool ?

5. not to mention the extremely murky circumstances the vietcong had with him, the various propaganda shit he produced while captured, etc...
