1. yes, second the posters who decry this nothingburger of a post from a 'techie' ? ? ? *sheesh* what was this, a five minute blog poop ?

2. as previous posters have pointed out, MANY issues regarding nuke power have NOT been resolved: the waste (whether you 'recycle' or not does NOT deal with the ultimate problems); decommissioning plants; the gummint subsidies that would otherwise make it uneconomical; the EXTREME 'problems' that CAN and DO occur when 'accidents' happen...

(as 'bad' (environmentally) as coal-fired plants may be, they don't 'meltdown' and spew toxic crap that makes us abandon that site for a hundred or more years...)

3. the nuke plants are in a negative feedback loop in regards to global warming... they *already* have to cut back on nuke plant power production in europa at times, because the river waters they use for cooling are getting warmer, then the nuke plants warm the water more, thus limiting its effectiveness in cooling even moreso, so they have to use more water, but its warmer water, so they can't go to full production... etc, etc, etc...

4. IF sheeple had listened to the dirty, stupid, fucking hippies 30-40 years ago, we WOULD NOT be in this mess...

5. unsexy, boring, and -you know- buzzkill conservation efforts would do FAR MORE to lessening energy needs than building a bunch of nuke plants...

but that's no fucking fun...
