Original article: Not your average tea party

Scomo

We have guns. We know how to use them. Many of us are ex-military. We not only have guns, we know strategy. We've done urban, jungle and desert warfare. But we don't need to carry our guns around or flash them in order to feel brave or masculine.

We also believe in caring for and protecting our neighbors. IF things get as rough as you seem to be hoping they will, we'll be the ones organizing communities to sure everyone is OK and protecting those communities, too.

And when all you big, brave, lone wolves find yourselves out of ammunition and out of food out there in your self-created wilderness, we'll welcome you in and feed you, but only as long as you behave yourselves in ways that mean you do your part of the work and treat others well.

Only now at the end

Do the members of the Republican Party come to understand the true power of the dark side of the Rush. He who has been the evil force behind all the manipulations and machinations is now revealed to be the emperor. All other leadership in the Imperial Party will be swept aside and Rush will, despite all his protestations to the contrary, now take complete charge.

In the end, who of the old Republican coalition will dare go up against Rush? How long until he begins to exert his evil influence over all of corporate America? Will he sweep Hannity and Beck aside out of jealousy? How long will he tolerate Rupert Murdoch's influence in the American Media? And was he responsible for the recent resignation of James Dobson as the head of "Focus on the (straight, white) Family," and if so, how did he pull it off?

PROVE IT!

"when the number of illegal votes exceeds the margin between the candidates -- and it cannot be determined for which candidate those illegal votes were cast" is clearly a reference to the 2000 Supreme Court ruling in Bush v. Gore (which was NOT to be used as precedent for any other case!)

Even worse, the very premise of the statement upon which the "do-over" request is based is false. Coleman's legal team has spent five weeks flailing around seeking to claim that there were illegal votes, which they FAILED to prove. They didn't even attempt to prove that there were votes where the intent of the voter could not be determined (no Florida-type "hanging chads" here in Minnesota).

Near the end they brought in a very questionable witness who was torn apart by Franken's team on cross examination when she admitted to having multiple conversations with the Coleman team about which Coleman's team did not inform the Franken team and which amounted to her being "coached."

Indeed, if the occurrence to which she testified were actually true, she ignored her sworn duty (as head election judge) to fill out an "incident report" regarding what happened, but only contacted Republican political party officials with her concerns (and even her claim to have done THAT was not corroborated by any other witnesses).

The witness's testimony was then struck from the record, but she returned as a witness the next day and, under further cross-examination revealed FAR MORE improper contact with the Coleman team than they had previously admitted, after which her testimony was again struck from the record. Finally the Coleman team was fined $7,500 for wasting the court's time with the whole mess.

In the end, all the Coleman team succeeded in doing was bringing in some improperly rejected absentee ballots (which they, themselves, had, during the recount, demanded be rejected). Those votes added more to FRANKEN's total.

So a do-over would require that the judges now reverse themselves on every major issue examined in the "election contest" trial so far.

I suppose we can't blame the Coleman team for trying?! No doubt the right-wing "stolen election" wingnut base will appreciate the effort and continue to think Acorn has the three-judge panel in their pockets. (and what color is the sky in that alternate universe today?)

Government "of, by and for the corporation" is vanishing from the earth

And this is a BAD thing?

And returning to government "of the people, by the people and for the people" is "Bolshevik-leaning?"

At least he's probably being honest about his worldview in which corporations should rule everything instead of spinning the usual Wealthy Republican BS about how government of by and for corporations REALLY IS good for the people.

But once again I'm forced to ask, what color is the sky in that alternate universe today?

Minnesota's Sixth District

Is heavily conservative (with a capital "C") Catholic (can't we throw out Vatican II and bring back the Latin mass?) and Prosperity Theology Fundamentalist Christian (Mac Hammond at whose church Bachmann spoke during the last election cycle).

Michelle was the anti-gay marriage, "pro-life" candidate. The priests and fundamentalist pastors were all solidly behind her. They would have supported Hitler whole-heartedly as long as he was "pro-choice" and anti-gay marriage (maybe for other reasons as well - take a look at news stories regarding anti-Jewish graffiti at St. Cloud State University).

It doesn't matter to these Conservative "Christians" that Michelle is stupid. Only that she's on the right side of the only two issues they care about.
