Original article: Clinton math

This ad about "the math"

How exactly is she paying for it? I know she's getting ready from day one spending money she doesn't have but I think some creditors are probably more than a bit pissed off to see new ads at this stage of the game while they are still holding unpaid invoices. I didn't listen to todays victory speech but usually she invites the faithful to tithe at hillaryclinton.com at least twice per victory speech. Perhaps I've missed the obligatory post how "we raised bazillions in five minutes after our stunning Puerto Rico win".

So according to the math,

Votes in a territory where people can't vote in the general election and in a state where you were the only one on the ballot count for your total but all caucus votes are dog poop (in fact, we should deduct total votes for every caucus win because...well, just because).

I'll be so glad when this is over.

Keeping in mind

The MAJORITY of the folks on the rules comittee are Clinton supporters. This is the deal. It isn't a case where Clinton or Obama can get a bid from "the other rules comittee". I say this anticipating Obama supporters saying something to the equivalent of "Fine, whatever, lets finish this thing" and the Clinton supporters (and associated trolls) screaming from the rooftops about the injustice of it all.

It was clinton people who made these decisions. Get over it.

I thought:

"How nice! An essay that deals with some serious current issues and doesn't have to do with the sturm and drang of Clinton vs. the world!"

And then it was after all.

I'll check back in when the convention is over.

Original article: "Podemos Con Obama"

Actually I was a Clinton supporter

until I saw John Leguizamo was for Obama. Good enough for me; I'm switching. (I've been a fan since Moulin Rouge...Leguizamo, not Clinton).

Yeah, It's been a long week. I agree it was probably sarcasm here but there honestly have been pundits discussing how much the "ricky martin effect" was going to help Clinton in Puerto Rico this weekend.

"close to matching the star power of Ricky Martin?"

I don't know. Living here in San Antonio I recognize most of them as current celebrities/stars. Ricky Martin...not so much. Wasn't Menudo from the 80's or something?

Jeb, checked your link

Completely different flavor. "Send money because the libruls are all foriegn islamofascist commie sympathizers" is the old line. I'm more amused by the bew "Omigod, Omigod, Omigod we are so screwed if you don't send money" strategy.

Friday, May 30, 2008 12:44 PM

No, jeb.

They've been posturing and talking tough for a a decade or so. It's fun to see them using the language of despair, even if it's only to pull a few dimes out the pockets of the faithful

Like I said....

Skylark: "I'll be watching the By-laws and Rules Committee hearing this weekend, and what happens there will help me make up my mind."

The majority of people on the rules comittee are Clinton supporters. I expect you will accept their decision and move on with it, whatever it is. I will.

Lolcait and shawn get paid by the post so I'm sure they really don't care what the rules comittee (did I mention they are mostly Clinton people on it?) has to say.

Clinton supporters out there:

Go back and read again how the majority of people on this committee are Clinton people. That means if they decide something other than what HRC is publicaly demanding or assuming it isn't a conspiracy. It isn't the "boys" being mean to the "girls". It isn't a plot to deny the rightful candidate of her position. It means a comittee, most of whom were Clinton supporters, made a decision on what DNC rules to enforce and how to enforce them.

I'm cool with whatever the result is. Are you?

Thanks for the link. Perhaps you are unaware that the same author on the same site last week published this piece about clinton supporter/demographic groups moving to Obama:

http://www.gallup.com/poll/107407/Obama-Surge-Fairly-BroadBased.aspx

So if Clinton can beat McCain in key states...

And if Clinton people are moving to Obama....

Then it's a lock for Obama! Right? Yay, team!

Either that or polls are fickle and difficult to interpret, but only when they go against you I suppose.

I have to wonder

What was he promised to stay quiet that he didn't get?

Tuesday, May 27, 2008 08:32 AM

Facts.

They have proved pesky things to the Clintons, time and again.

Friday, May 23, 2008 08:12 PM

HRC: "Will no one rid me of this meddlesome candidate?"

The above is just as accurate as "RFK junior calls out obamamaniacs" or "obama campaign fanning the flames". None are true. (It is more literary, though.)

The press is jumping on this just like "bitter". It helps fill those endless minutes till the next election 2008 gotcha moment comes along. I don't believe she was advocating assasination either but the bad taste is unbelievable, especially considering her base of "hard working americans, white americans" are getting pretty hot as the curtain draws down on this. Just look at the letters section of salon.

Of course I suspect Romney and Huckabee might have had unseemly interest in the McCains medical records released today.

Friday, May 23, 2008 08:39 AM

WTF?

"Clinton, Malveaux says, is aware of the discussions but is not even thinking about the vice-presidency as she continues to run to head the ticket."

So her campaign is in discussions to cut deals of this magnitude and Clinton, herself, is not even directly involved? Does she plan to run the country the same way...more or less the way W has been doing it? "Dick? Condi? Y'all let me know what you figure out we should do with Iran, OK?". This is a really bad sign.

When will the HRC fans finally figure out that the objections aren't that she's a woman; it's that it is this particular politician? Biden didn't lose because he has a receding hair line. Richardson didn't lose because he's hispanic. Kucinich didn't lose because he's short. And HRC isn't losing because she's a woman; any other politician with her history, policies, election tactics, and such would never have made it to super tuesday much less to this point
