Hey, Joe,
Of course it was always about regime change.
But that isn't how it was sold to either congress or the american people and to argue otherwise is just wrong.
There are lots of regimes that need changing and over the years we have had our hand in many of them, unfortunately with significant blowback for our efforts. (Hussein could have been displaced earlier if we hadn't propped him up when he started to lose the Iran-Iraq war. Those old 155mm chemical warheads they found? Them's ours. Iran? The Shah was our boy. Blowback.)
Are you saying the administration was honest about this affair? Liars should be fired.
Are you saying that this war was run successfully?
Incompetents should be fired.
Stoning of adulterers is biblical enough and, if we made it law of the land, we could eliminate half of our "do nothing congress" in a weekend.
As for the first poster, some would interpret Genesis 1:29 as saying that only CAN we smoke the herb but, in fact, we SHOULD be smoking the herb.
We don't have state income tax here in Texas but the money for this nonsense is coming out someone's budget. Fewer Policemen on the street. A highway bridge that won't be repaired. Educational budget shaved. Jerk
All you folks slamming Texas, the president is a yankee who likes to pretend he's a "Texan rancher". We thought it was pretty clever getting him out of Austin and back up north where he belongs. OK, ok, it turned out to be a bad idea but we thought it was good at the time.
It was kind of fun to see Joe and Barndog on the same string since they represent flip sides of the same deluded minority. Joe "respects our right to disagree" but of coursein his superiority knows he is right and pities our inability to see the strength and manliness of dear leader and his administration. Barndog, on the other hand, cuts through the crap and puts on the brown shirt and takes to the streets to call for the elimination of us untermenschen. Did he actually threaten to nuke a writer for having a different opinion? Moonbats, Bolsheviks, Juden....all the same to his kind.
I also noticed Joe's absence on this string. If he doesn't post soon I'm sure he'll have to forfeit his retainer from the RNC. Even Barndog is quiet. Perhaps the foolishness of their idols is finally too much for them to put their name to. And perhaps it is indeed the end of times.
Joe, glad to see you're earning your pay as the assigned Salon bush apologist. Thank you for pointing out that we are all hypocritical idiots but I have an exercise I'd like you to try.
Read Rice's statement again.
Imagine Hilary Clinton saying the same thing.
Now, QUICK! Write down your first impression.
If you wrote anything other than "Complete BS" or the verbal equivalent, I'm calling you a liar.
I, too, was for the war before I was against it; but that's when I thought Iraq posed a real threat to world peace and US safety. (Wonder where I got that idea). To be accused now of being a French loving, Chamberlain idolizing, old south slaver is as ridiculous as it is insulting. Your people have gone around the bend. Big time!
Is that the best you can do? Your employer will not feel like they're getting their money's worth on this one. A feeble swipe at "progressives" (the new moonbat, I believe)
As for active strategy, which part of the active strategy that the administration has had 5 years to work on has:
1) Put explosives sniffers on the airport screening lines?
2) Increased port security with increased and more effective inspections?
3) Provided high risk cities and targets (like the petting zoo in indiana?) with the training and equipment to handle real world, no-shit bioterrorist attacks much less dirty bombs?
4) The filling of ALL the key positions in FEMA, DHS, Public Health, Immigration, etc. with qualified, experienced people on a non-partisan basis. (please don't cite the one or two examples where qualified folks have been accidentally appointed)
5) Established proven improved communication between CIA, FBI, DHS (and all petting zoos).
6) Spent the money so that police departments, fire departments, and EMS can talk to each other during a crisis.
7) Created a strong, legal international presence to gather REAL intelligence about the bad guys.
Well at least we have a missle system which just might work, sometimes, in case the guy with the pompador lobs a live one our way. I'll let pass the fact that I could have taken the millions that baby costs and checked off one or two of the other items on the above list.
Perhaps after he is sent to prison, he can retitle his memoirs "My Struggle". Looking at the neo-conservative agenda as it has played out, he won't even have to change a lot of the words from the original German.
$115,000 was over 3 years. That's not nearly as bad as it sounded for doing nothing.
Disappointing, disappointing. I think your employers weren't ready to tip their hand on the detention camp thing. So ix-nay on talking about the amps-cay. If Joe is calling for the liberals to be rounded up and made to "work for their freedom" if you know what I mean, I cringe to think what his alter-ego Barnyard Dog would have to say.
