"It would be like the NAACP endorsing Clinton over Obama, a black man and organizer in the african american community. It just wouldn't happen, but women as their own worst enemy, that always happens."
So what if the NAACP did endorse Clinton? Some black activists would go nuts and you would say what? That's pretty stupid? Get over it? Hooray for our side? Naral is endorsing the putative pro-choice candidate over the known anti-choice candidate.
As for the "own worst enemy" line. Either accept the mantle of victimhood as your lot or stand firm that women can do whatever they want. You can't have it both ways. Women are free to do what they want with their votes and their bodies...unless other women disagree? Seems to be what you're saying here.
That's why he's here trying to stir things up.
That, all by itself, is reason to pull the plug.
Oh, I forget, she's using data from Karl Rove to support Penn's advice. Is there anyone else with real pull that can explain how folks see this from outside the bubble?
Without Mark Penn, she would have won the nomination sometime after super tuesday (maybe).
Yeah, "fight to the end". That's what they were saying in the fuhrerbunker right up to may 1945.
What are you talking about?
Obama raised almost half a billion dollars FOR THE PRIMARY! The general election has not started yet. If McCain goes public financing, which he pretty much has to, he will a chunk of change to be sure. And then people like me who opened our wallets in the primary, will open them again and crank out another half billion dollars. Or Obama will go public financing and get the same chunk of change as McCain. You're logic of why these numbers or bad is missing.
If you are a clinton supporter and this is somehow supposed to show that obama is "done" and that clinton should be the one, you will have to explain the math on that one since HRC is only raising a fraction of that now.
Oh, and Shawn, I remember a post last week where you said you were "done with us". Why are you still here?
You could call it Soahc or something like that. Get the senior Dems and key media mouthpieces to start to crap themselves that Lieberman might actually be McCain's VP. What a dream ticket! How completely unbeatable, especially with "Hussein" as the Dem candidate! If it's McCain/Lieberman, we should just give up and save the money for 2012!
Then after it's a done deal at the convention, yell "Psych!" and proceed to crush the republicans in a big way in november.
"Clinton, Malveaux says, is aware of the discussions but is not even thinking about the vice-presidency as she continues to run to head the ticket."
So her campaign is in discussions to cut deals of this magnitude and Clinton, herself, is not even directly involved? Does she plan to run the country the same way...more or less the way W has been doing it? "Dick? Condi? Y'all let me know what you figure out we should do with Iran, OK?". This is a really bad sign.
When will the HRC fans finally figure out that the objections aren't that she's a woman; it's that it is this particular politician? Biden didn't lose because he has a receding hair line. Richardson didn't lose because he's hispanic. Kucinich didn't lose because he's short. And HRC isn't losing because she's a woman; any other politician with her history, policies, election tactics, and such would never have made it to super tuesday much less to this point
The above is just as accurate as "RFK junior calls out obamamaniacs" or "obama campaign fanning the flames". None are true. (It is more literary, though.)
The press is jumping on this just like "bitter". It helps fill those endless minutes till the next election 2008 gotcha moment comes along. I don't believe she was advocating assasination either but the bad taste is unbelievable, especially considering her base of "hard working americans, white americans" are getting pretty hot as the curtain draws down on this. Just look at the letters section of salon.
Of course I suspect Romney and Huckabee might have had unseemly interest in the McCains medical records released today.
They have proved pesky things to the Clintons, time and again.
What was he promised to stay quiet that he didn't get?
Thanks for the link. Perhaps you are unaware that the same author on the same site last week published this piece about clinton supporter/demographic groups moving to Obama:
http://www.gallup.com/poll/107407/Obama-Surge-Fairly-BroadBased.aspx
So if Clinton can beat McCain in key states...
And if Clinton people are moving to Obama....
Then it's a lock for Obama! Right? Yay, team!
Either that or polls are fickle and difficult to interpret, but only when they go against you I suppose.
Go back and read again how the majority of people on this committee are Clinton people. That means if they decide something other than what HRC is publicaly demanding or assuming it isn't a conspiracy. It isn't the "boys" being mean to the "girls". It isn't a plot to deny the rightful candidate of her position. It means a comittee, most of whom were Clinton supporters, made a decision on what DNC rules to enforce and how to enforce them.
I'm cool with whatever the result is. Are you?
Skylark: "I'll be watching the By-laws and Rules Committee hearing this weekend, and what happens there will help me make up my mind."
The majority of people on the rules comittee are Clinton supporters. I expect you will accept their decision and move on with it, whatever it is. I will.
Lolcait and shawn get paid by the post so I'm sure they really don't care what the rules comittee (did I mention they are mostly Clinton people on it?) has to say.
