Original article: Power to the people, 2.0

Anonymous (Joe by another name)

"Gee ...

... why no mention of Edwards' total hypocrisy:

Taking $55,000 of taxpayers' money to speak to California students about poverty!"

And McCain's trip to Iraq was free?

And Bush's flying all around the country giving the same tired speech is free?

And elimination of the estate tax isn't going to gut the treasury?

And the raise for Wolfowitz's girlfriend didn't cost us?

And the whole freaking Iraq war is being paid for with Iraqi oil revenues, right?

$55K is pocket change for your neocon heroes. It's what they wipe their asses with.

And anonymous joe, normally I ignore you, but your repeated posts looked like a cry for help.

Original article: Goodling's McNulty-bashing

Unfortunately at work rather than watching CSPAN

But thanks for update. So early on she calls McNulty a liar but it doesn't sound like she has anything that could remotely be considered a defense of Gonzalez. I like that.

I also like the concept of the circular firing squad.

She went to a Christian Law school and all; maybe she will be more afraid of God for swearing on a bible and then lying than of that whole go to jail for perjury thing. We shall see, I guess

Original article: Goodling's mea culpa

So what else is new?

I've lived my whole life so that I would never be in the situation where I had to answer the question: "Are you lying or just completely incompetent?"

These guys don't even care anymore.

Good thing this isn't feudal Japan or there would have been a run on the rice mat market because of the all the seppaku obligated by this rampant dishonor.

Original article: Biden alone

I was against Gore throwing his hat into the ring

because I thought he was doing more good for the country with what he has been doing lately rather than stomping around the country begging for money. I also didn't want to hear the right wing pundits resurrect the inventing internet, love story, big mansion talking points again.

But as impressed as I am with the relative diversity of the democratic slate (especially compared to the old white guy republican panel), I am depressed that the front runners appear to be wandering aimlessly, without firmly taking a stand on anything without checking first which way the wind blows. Richardson and Kucinich may be exceptions but it is doubtful they will ever get the money and party support they need.

Al? Maybe second time is a charm.

Normanx

Pretty clever.

But the "hide the sausage" thing with Rove makes me more than a little queasy.

Must be a subpoena or indictment on the way

This administration has been as careful as they could to not have "sitting" members of the administration actually get tagged while on the job. They must have gotten wind of something on the way so it's only private citizen Bartlett, not counselor Bartlett, that gets served.

It's always classified right up the point that the administration feels they use it as a prop. If the president thought the plans would have made a good backdrop for a speech, we would have seen them months ago.

Besides this would a contractor picked by YOUR administration, presumably after specifying security requirements. Heckuva job, whoever.

Liberals are more fun to listen to.

You don't always know what they are going to say and you have to keep your brain engaged to understand the message. Other than perhaps Buckley, conservative speakers say the same things over and over again and use simple-minded rhetoric designed to get your adrenal glands squeezed rather than increase cortical blood flow.

Uniforms in a box

When I retired from the Air Force a year and a half ago, I was warned that I was most vulnerable to involuntary recall in the first 3 three years after leaving. Knowing what incompetent bozos were in charge for that 3 years, I only sold my dress uniforms on ebay and kept the day to day wear and field uniforms in a box just in case.

In light of this story, after making a comment like the one above, they could recall me to active duty just so they can discipline me. It actually might be fun. I was a "good soldier" for my first 28 years; I would be happy to invite the media in for nonsense like this now. I hope sanity prevails in this soldier's case.

And Gonzalez did say "I don't know" alot for someone who is supposed to a national leader. Doofus. And double for your boss, Al.

I'm afraid that probably went over Tiberius's head. You should try something more like:

"Orry-say about Ibby-lay going to Ail-jay, Oll-tray Ick-day."

Bignose,

Good point. I'd rather he pardon a criminal to "restore his legacy" than start another war.

What would be even better would be for cheney to take credit for the presidential pardon as part of the Draft Cheney in 2008 campaign. Some on the deluded right have actually proposed a Cheney/Gonzalez or Cheney/Rice ticket. I would love to see it.

So it's ok with you to send Armitage to jail, too?

I think you just accidently agreed with most of the folks from this site you spend so much time trolling on. Ooopsies!

Tiberius

I'd take your statement about Armitage at its word but I would remind you the judge and jury decided Libby should go to jail; and yet that appears to be not good enough for you.

As for libby pardon helping bush. It might get him back a few folks he lost on immigration but I doubt it will raise any extra bucks for his library.

Original article: Reporting for duty, sir

Snow didn't do this in proper Bushspeak.

It should have gone,

"Yes, the president. The president is in the war every day. In other words, No."

Original article: Pace: I was forced out

Editorials I've read

suggest he was forced out by mean bully democrats for his anti-gay stance.

The fact he has helped preside over our greatest military defeat since Vietnam has nothing to do with it, I'm sure. We'll see him plenty in the future as yet another retired general talking head on cable "news".
