I knew the race was over

When Clinton made the comment about how she and McCain were ready to lead and Obama was not. Having handed the republicans their most effective attack ad, I knew the democratic party hard core (see "superdelegates") would not forgive her anytime soon. That coupled with the idea that the only thing she had left to run on was "experience", for which McCain can claim double...and use the same Clinton endorsement against her as well, she was more or less toast for 2008. Question is, if Obama loses the general, does she have a chance in 2012 or will she take the blame for the loss (likely) and will still find herself out in the cold.

"It's no wonder that top journalists are calling the Obama campaign desperate, saying that it's amateur hour in Chicago."

And which top journalists would those be? Do tell. Folks from Newsmax? Fox? Talon news? Sean Hannity? Assistant editor of the Little Rock gazette? (no offense meant to anyone working at the Little Rock gazette)

WES, I normally ignore your one note symphonies but,

"And small Hillary face tattoo on my bicep. (no shit)"

I'm concerned about the REAL debates if Clinton is nominee

Serbia! Hanoi Hilton!

8 years senate experience! Decades of senate experience!

Husband championed NAFTA but I think it sux now! That's part of your experience?

Spoke with leaders everywhere for women's rights! I thought you said words don't matter?

Health Care for everyone! Like 1993?

Supported kicking Saddam Hussein's butt! We are agreed!

This isn't going to go well.

Svenson

Only an intermittant McCain fan (when he isn't pissing me off) but he was interned in Hanoi, not some Rambo jungle stockade. He was offered parole at least once because his dad was an admiral and he turned it down because it was not offered to comarades.

I don't think time spent honorably as a POW necessarily qualifies you to be president of the united states. Neither should it be minimalized as a sign of character, at least at that time.

Linkin Park, "Hands Held High"

Like this war's really just a different brand of war.

Like it doesn't cater to rich and abandon poor.

Like they understand you in the back of the jet, when you

can't put gas in your tank, and these f**kers are

laughing their way to the bank, cashing the check

asking you to have compassion, AND have SOME respect

for a leader so nervous in an obvious way

Stuttering and mumbling for nightly news to replay

and the rest of the world watching at the end of the day

in the living room laughing like "what did he say?"

I got nothing to add. When folks asked why I retired in 2006 after 28 years in the Air Force instead of going for 30, I tell them I just could not stand my boss any more.

Tiresome W.E.S:

Was Obama planning to make his pastor Secretary of State? VP? Now that would be news and very important for the voters to know.

I'll do it!

But then I have the advantage of not trusting anyone who's been in DC more than 6 years.

I wish I could quit you, John McCain

Everytime I'm ready to write him off as another republican hack with the whitehouse in his eyes, he says something reasonable which makes me respect him again.

Of course tomorrow he may talk about blowing the bejeezus out of Syria and I'll know life is back to normal.

The other consideration

The 2025 magic number is based on a percentage of total delegates. If florida & michigan don't count, shouldn't the total number to clinch nomination be lower?

"...our damned candidate and has pissed off every other non-black..."

Ummm, I guess that's all you really need to say about why you are for Clinton...or McCain...or...anyone white?

Republicans are voting for clinton

because they were told to. They will NOT in november.

In other words...

"That means the troop drawdown could begin in April, when the first troops in the surge will reach their 15th month on the ground. Officials say that all of the surge brigades reach their 15th month by August 2008."

In other words, when the last of the surge troops leave in August, the first ones to leave will have been home four months so we can send them again. In other words, soldiers will continue to be screwed until the election is over. Maybe longer depending upon who wins.

Actually, yes.

"You're right, 10+ years of community organizing and legislative experience don't count for anything...

If they did, hundreds if not thousands of people in this country are just as qualified as Obama to run the show."

There are hundreds of thousands of Americans more qualified to run this country than the handful of name-recognized party hacks that seem to queue up every four years on both sides of the aisle. What is different this year is that, for a change, one of the upstarts actually has a chance.

You mean like Vitter? And I do believe Mr. Craig is still in office as well.

I'm not defending him. I can't stand hypocrisy in any party but to say republicans get witchhunts and democrats get free passes isn't how it works. Abuse of privilege and hypocrisy should lead to resignation or, at least, no re-election/promotion. No matter which party.

(And yes, although a democrat, when Bill C. was having his "troubles", I felt he should have resigned because these were relations with a subordinate, not some random woman which bothers me not. I was career military at the time and would have been courtmartialed for such)

Maybe he was spending his economic stimulus check early

I mean, there aren't any limitations on what you "buy" to give that economy a lift...er...pump up the economy...oh...nevermind

Private life should be private life

But this remains question #1 on the open book test that is "How do I not embarass myself in elected office."

And people keep failing it anyways.

Dick Morris?

Yes, high on my list of people who's advice I should not take.

Roberta H & Factcheck1

"the senator was portrayed as a manager who valued loyalty and familiarity over experience and expertise."

Explain to all of us deluded independents and foolish democrats why this is OK. Or tell me it's not true (and back up the statement with one or two things she's done which prove she DOES value expertise over loyalty.)
