Original article: This Modern World

Kristol is a foul propagandist regardless of his religion and ancestry

So--fools--stop blaming Kristol's judaism or "zionism" for his horrible

judgement and love of violent policies that kill Americans and, well, just about anyone brown.

The majority of support for Bush's horrible policies come from self proclaimed "Christians," so leave Judaism out of it.

The Jews are super cool for America and the world. If you have a problem with the policies of the Israeili government, then call it that. You don't blame Jesus and Christians for Vietnam and the Iraq war---you blame the policy and the assholes. In the Iraq war case, Kristol and Bush.

The last thing we need on the left are stupid anti-semites trolling our comment sections. You don't represent us and you aren't one of us. You're a plant, a right winger, or just an asshole (see above, you fit right in).

I'm a liberal Irish American Mutt and I love Jews. And Jews have championed more liberal and progressive causes than just about any group.

Kristol's Judaism is his best quality, and obviously the Talmud and the Torah don't influence his thinking at all. Just his imperialist Bush Brain.

Original article: Obama's double magic

Captured on film: Obamas magic hand beams

I thought I was hallucinating, but there they are!

He can turn water into cherry Kool-Aid

Sunshine into more sunshine

Republicans and Democrats dancing on the floor of the senate with Ted Steven's spinning Kool and the Gang's "Celebrate."

Men admiting they were wrong to their wives and girlfriends

Blackwater deployed to New Orleans with flowers for residents

Cats and dogs living together

A tearful redneck hugging a hippie

A sexy female CEO falling in love with an unemployed, skinny guy and vice versa

The CEO of Dow Chemcials bringing groceries to an unwed teenage mother

The battle of the bands--Krystal & BattleAxe--ends in a group hug

The Staff of the Weekly standard bringing meals to Aids patients

Ann Coulter's new book "The Power of Unconditional Love" reaches #3 on the NYT bestseller list.

A tearful, hilarious ending to the Iraq War not seen the end of "Mash"

Seriously, I do like the candidate, Obama. I'm voting for him or Edwards. I just carry a bucket of cold water whenever I smell smoke and hype.

Original article: Chris Matthews is right

Glenn G: Spot on analysis of Matthews, Dowd and the press in general

I listen to Matthews...

I read Dowd....

and I nash my teeth in frustration at the inanity of "journalism" in the US.

Thank you Glenn for reminding me that we are sane while they are...inane.

Original article: "We're all fascists now"

Rational thought RIP

Pinch yourself, we are actually seriously debating this idea as illustrate by book cover:

The liberalism that produced the hippies (peace, love, flowers, anti-war) and the smiley face (have a nice day) is really pretty similar to Hitler, Nazi Germany and the extermination of 6 million Jews and uncounted gypsies, homosexuals and intellectuals.

Yes, that's reasonable premise for a mass marketed book and for debate on Salon.com.

One small step for yapping pundit, one giant step toward more credibility for Insane, scarily laughable irrational thought.

Amen. May all the major network news programs

choke on my own vomit.

Clarence Thomas is not a sellout

Because that implies he signed up to help black folks and then quit. He never signed up to help anyone but himself. He benefited from the spirit of affirmative action and after was absolutely satisified to pull up the ladder so none followed him.

He's simply another right wing, mediocre activist justice who can be counted to vote in favor of big business, deregulation, and the new survelliance society. Oh yes, and to appoint an ex drunk draft dodger who crashes oil companies and baseball teams to the position of leader of the free world.

Original article: What do evangelicals want?

God is not a democrat or a republican

But if you listen to the most prominent Christian leaders in America you'll know God favors free markets, lower taxes for rich people, closeted (or no) gays, the "surge," a pro-war version of Christ's teachings, abortion rights outlawed, prisons over programs for the poor, The USA over other countries, Private versus Universal Healthcare.

God hates: assault rifle bans, European style social democracy, free clinics, supporting the troops by bringing them home, organic food, congressional overight.

Just so we're clear.

We need Rambo to win

the unnecessary, immoral and unwinnable wars we keep losing.

Original article: Minding our health

I started out a believer in only Alternative and mind-body methods

of healing for my chronic immune disorder. They helped a little, but I relapsed and relapsed and over the years got worse and worse. I finally turned to western medicine to complement the mind-body medicine. I improved again, but once again I relapsed.

Now I'm sick and can tell you from experience that mind-body medicine is not the saving miracle for everyone and western medicine is not the outdated modality to be avoided.

If you use positive thinking and get well, be thankful. But don't assume it was all you and your thinking. If you didn't get well, would you simply blame yourself?

Were those who survived Birkenau and Auscwitz mentally stronger than those who did not? No, it was random in most cases.

If you know someone who is ill, but for whom mind body medicine is not helping, do not blame this person for not "self-healing."

Some things are in our control, some things are out of our control, and often we do not know which.

Original article: Minding our health

Positive thinking will work better to make your lips fuller or wrinkles disappear

than will "Hydroderm" which is advertised on Salon's homepage.

Who has a bet how long this letter lasts on this page?

Free exchange of ideas vs commerce. It's a tough one and I don't blame Salon if they pull this letter down. They have to pay the bills. I just want to save some suckers some money.

Extra cynicism

Yes, the cat and dogfighting is on.

But once we have a nominee we will, as we did in 2004 with Kerry, get behind the candidate and support them with everything we've got. I and all my friends worked for MoveOn and the Kerry campaign and while no of us liked him much, we almost got him elected.

Tom's extra cynicism is unecessary and thus, this cartoon is unhelpful and off the mark. But keep at it.

John McCain promises there will be "other wars," but does not specify where or when

Neat. Then it'll be a surprise.
