  • And Athletes...

[Read the article: Too much information. Period]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    Hi,

When I was in a rowing crew, the (male) coach had to know when everyone's period was.

    Normal, right?

  • You Be The Judge...

[Read the article: The K Chronicles]

    Hi,

Not including the, um, male item =), I'm female, but I can totally relate. And, it was both blacks and whites who felt/feel that you're "not black enough".

However, this was/is NOT all bad.

By moving around so much (Dad was busy accumulating university degrees), and not living in the largest cities; we had to grow in more and different ways or we wouldn't have any friends.

    Or dates either.

Did this help us or hurt us when we finally moved to the larger cities? My friends and dates are still less black than I thought they'd eventually be.

    You be the judge.

Thanks for the amusing 'toon =).

  • You're Only Human...

[Read the article: I have the hots for my stepson]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    Hi,

Please remember that you're/she's/we're only human!

I used to volunteer to teach occasional workshops at a high school. I was amazed when, at least twice, there were boys that I--not only found attractive--but, were personally attracted to(!). In no way did I let on to them or to anyone else that I felt this way. Professionalism, first, foremost and always.

Same goes for the twits and twats who blatantly show and say that they want my attention. It's inappropriate, offensive and Never happening.

I recognize that we're/she's/you're only human, but, remember, your professional instincts rule: first, foremost, and always.

  • No biggie Tim, but...

...the border will disappear eventually. The idea is to compete with the European Union. Of course, whether the EuroUnion is a good idea or not is debatable.

I don't know about jobs leaving the US due to NAFTA, but I do know that Canadians live in fear of the day when Americans "take" our water. This is no lame fear. It is what the Dunces who came up with this NAFTA document have agreed to--until, if and when the Bush fan, er, prime minister who's in power reopens the debate. Here's hoping.

As per your mention, in both speaking and writing, a small number of Canadians have begun to use American terms such as "college" to describe university. (Universities have always been deemed philosophically "higher" than technically-oriented colleges.) And, in writing, there's more dropping of the letter "u" from certain Canadian words. However, these examples are not the norm.

    No biggie Tim.

Good luck John, Hil, Oba =).

  • Is this news?

[Read the article: Working women's wife envy]

    Hello,

    Newsflash!

I'm Catholic and I disagree with the Vatican.

    Go figure!

  • Same prob?...

[Read the article: My boss says I'm a lesbian but I'm not!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Yes, I know what you mean.

I have very short hair, I'm not a shy person, and I'm also a businesswoman.

For some BIZARRE reason, some men and women decide that I'm gay. And no matter how FEMINEly I try to dress (most days), the assumption is too often there.

However, I asked myself if I had 6 months to live, would I worry about these idiots or twats who keep assuming and asking me? The answer is always a resounding NO.

Also, the best response when someone asks this question is,

    "Why, are you gay?"

This ALWAYS stops them in their tracks--without you having to suffer the indignity of answering their stupid question.

    CHEERS!

  • Oops, Wrong Candidate!

[Read the article: Are you sexually jealous of Hillary Clinton?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Nope, I'm sexually jealous of Barack Obama's wife. He's definitely more my type.

There's no way that the possibility of having four more years of Bill is a liability to Hillary.

    Go Billary, go.

  • You Know You're Fine...

    Donna,

You are clearly comfortable in your skin, and have lots of proof here on why and how you feel the way you do, and will hopefully convince the powers-that-be you need.

After years in Catholic girls' schools, both my unanswered and unanswerable questions caused me to feel that I was an "agnostic Catholic". At no point did I feel myself an atheist, but the ongoing questions-with-no-answers drove me nuts till I gave up.

Years later when the peace and serenity of my daily BUDDHA-based advanced meditation led me to reconcile with the church, I realized that I could both have faith and enjoy the traditions I had been raised on, without agreeing with the church's man made teachings (I do not agree with its teachings on divorce, abortion, alternative lifestyles, premarital sex, etcetera). Teachings, you will note, that are subject to change depending on which pope is in charge.

At the same time, I have agnostic and atheist friends. Their lack of faith doesn't bother me because I don't feel that faith is a choice. I feel that faith is a gift and, therefore, I don't blame people for not having something they haven't been given. In other words, we all get along great. Any disagreements come more from "some" fellow churchgoers who try to convince me to feel differently about the church's man made teachings. I don't.

Today, I continue the advanced meditation (it has been indispensable to me), but also visit the Catholic church weekly, and a nondenominational spiritualist centre as well.

Donna, despite disagreements with "some" of my fellow churchgoers, I have no trouble with my similarities and differences in faith, and it is clear from your article that you do not either. Take comfort in the fact that conservatism the world over is on the decline, and that you are a human being who is free to study, question, comprehend, and express. Enjoy.

  • Why Edwards?...

[Read the article: When principles aren't enough]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Because he says what he means and means what he says. I mean, he's very specific, not vague at all about actions he would take to solve problems.

And, oh yes! Obama's positively virginal and Hillary's claiming many of Bill's successes as her own.

Did you know that items of national importance are not permitted for discussion with the spouse? This is not a choice and Bill won't be able to handle playing second fiddle to Hillary. In other words, THIS presidency would be their homewrecker.

    Edwards all the way!

  • John...

    Man...

    You had substance...

And you forced the others to have substance.

    You will be missed.

    We love you man.
