Britney is waking up
[Read the article: "It's Britney, bitch"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I think Britney has a vague idea of what is happening to her. She knows she is "processed" talent. Of her personal life she she thought shes be happy and isn't. I believe she still loves Kevin but is waking to the fact he no longer loves her....who wouldn't "wash that man right out of my hair"...albeit she shaved her head. I think Britney is doing the best she can...work the public (that's her job) and try to live her own life.

"politics the skillfull use of blunt instruments" - Pearson
[Read the article: Goodbye, Mr. Bush]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Forgive me ... " Politics is the skillfull use of blunt instruments" Lester B. Pearson. Out of 16 reports from secret services around the globe, 12 or (13?) of them reported to Bush and Congress (Hillery read this too...and based her decision on this) that yes there were WMD's in Irag ...a good estimation. Now all this political posturing ....and media tools who get behind demos or republicans make me personally sick because so much is lost ie the truth ... in the translation of reports ....in pursuit of this desperate power struggle...for ????? that holy grail the presidency of the United States.

comment on article
[Read the article: The secret to Mike Huckabee's success]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I thought this was a very good article....made me see the light as far as him robbing some ideas from John Edwards....I too think his name alone is enough of a "revolt" or stand for revolution.. or different way of doing things...that a lot of people clearly want.

[Read the article: Time off to care for kids? Hope you don't need your pension]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]This is really horrible and don't I at 54 worry about this too. The value of a homemaker is so undervalued...it is a sin !

I needed to hear that ....
[Read the article: Just follow the map ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]God did I need to read this article today. Overwhelmed by Christmas expectations ... visiting family in Canada ... I ran away to a seedy motel, listening to hookers make some other lonely people happy as I lay there in my bed, contemplating my life. Finding confort in my "woe is me" solitude, I booked another night in this motel ... it was the next best thing to running away (I had no car) and just review my needs and maybe prioritize them a bit better. I was a burnt out 54 year old grandmother and wife with a healthy extended family members on both sides. The big question was where was I in this picture. Next year at this time I hope to make that trip "out west somewhere!"

I'm no authority but ...
[Read the article: Most Dems no better than Bush on Pakistan]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I'm a legal alien originally from Canada. Deceased Prime Minister Pearson once said " Politics is the skillful use of blunt instruments." 13 world-wide security agenies were contacted about weapons in Iraq... 3 said there weren't any. I think Iraq 'seemed more strategic' in terms of location and cost benefits than supporting it in Afganistan. Like marriage there is a lot of "unseen" stuff that only comes out in time.

Great letter and great response
[Read the article: Go away, can't you see I'm writing?!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Gosh I can translate this problem into my just wanting to be a person in my role as a housewife to my family ! I have no money either to get a room of my own and watch, for example, in the evening the shows I like on our digital 58" TV. Instead I give it up in the name of 'good wife and mother' to everyone else that wants to watch their shows. But like you say Cary one really does have to work at it and if finding a room of ones own home isn't possible then look harder or outside. I have a tiny TV in my bedroom now that I turn on, shut my door and that's it ... it ain't the 58" downstairs but it'll do.

[Read the article: How to solve America's water problems]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Hey Lake Superior is losing water at a fast enough rate to worry residents who have to walk out now to get to their boat ! Don't say it ain't happening in Canada. Drought is definietly happening in Toronto. I know I travel their 4 times a year to visit relatives and the grass ain't green !!!!!!

I fear my brain .... it's biologically set for depression
[Read the article: I'm a brilliant scientist and I fear for the world's fate]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It's about 2:15 in the night and I am up nursing a flu. I thought I'd drop by Cary. Now look what I found - an amazing letter and an amazing answer. There's a quote I just read "Life is absurd and we try to give it meaning." Right now I'm wearing a warm hat to keep my head warm. I remember my Dad doing this whenever he got sick. I'm 54 and suffer from a debilitating depression. I am getting treatment. During a stay in a clinic recently they were teaching us about Mindfulness, a more relaxing way of looking at and living your life. It comes from Buddaism. Live in the moment, when you do your thoughts relax as your senses take over. Both don't work at the same time so thoughts of the past and worries of the future dissapate as you dive into the ocean of your senses ... smell, touch, taste, sight and sound. Learning to live our everyday life in another way, if only for periods of time thruout our day, like exercise if you will - exercise for the mind, might be the broom we need to tidy up our minds when we need to.
