Not recommended reading for bubba

Great article, but you do realize that certain percentage of your readers may not get the irony of your comments?

The Joe-Zero-Pack will actually think it's not just ok but highly patriotic not to bring the past crimes to justice?

Just saying.Personally - been there,definitely staying away from political satire over turkey with my in-laws. Awkward moments! Luckily my husband of 30yrs is an exception in that Southern family.

Back with bells on!

Welcome back with a great strong article, agree with you on "freeing" the repubs from the scary medical they are so afraid of. We will have enough money for all of us that are ready for the public healthcare, I grew up in it in Sweden.So many before me have already itemized all the pros of that system. Let's get it on here already!

I am so glad you are back and feeling good.

@Lord Farth

I am officially having one of my "un-christian" moments.Picturing one of the millions of un-insured ,off his/her anti-depressant meds, having an encounter with Rick Scott and his troll lackey Lord Farth.

Not feeling guilty about this fantasy either.

Note to Ms.Walsh

First I stopped reading Salon because of the hatefulness of C.Paglia. I understand that to satisfy advertisers you have to cater to both sides of the isle. Which is really funny,because the right wing media does not bother with that. But I have noticed long ago that in this country that is expected from the liberals, because after all they are supposed to be better people right? The price of integrity,right?

Ms.Zacharek's articles never really bothered me either way,perhaps because after all she just reviews tv and entertainment and who really cares about reality shows,whether she liked those or not I was not going to waste my life watching it anyway.Most americans with slavic last names are pretty much way on the right,must be something to do with reasons why their forefathers came here in the first place.Because in the old country nobody wanted their fanatic religious opinions?

But this time just scrolled down the latest here and her personal attack on MM is just another proof of all the above.

She had pretty much all the trolls agree with her as expected.

The amount of purely progressive,patriotic and hopeful news sites are drastically shrinking. But we can still find intelligent reading if we try.So now I will read an occassional article by Ms.Walsh,rest of salon is off my list.

Great article,but

Great article as usual, watched Bill Moyers,good show.

But,I have a comment that is off subject.

Just read about Ms.Paglia and her unfortunate comments.Please let her stay away from salon, nobody missed her and as she again proved nobody ever will.

Thanks

Badly needed doctrination

If this indoctrination will mean that our low quality education in comparison to other countries will get a pep talk,please let it get as political as you can Mr.President.

All the parents that will deny their children to listen to this speech, are Un-patriotic and Un-American. Sounds like the slogans on Republican picket-signs! Damn right, they can't take it when it's dished out the other way.

Our elected president is going to speak to our children and some parents are trying to stop it? Frankly I would have been worried if good ole George would have made an attempt to make a speech like that,but I would not stopped my kids to see it,only prepared myself to do a lot of "esplaining" after the confusion.

PS.Hello to my friend Jamison,nice to see you are still around.

Original article: Stiff upper lip, Democrats

Brave article Mr.Keillor!

Great article,Mr.Keillor.But you are very brave to combine the two issues one can get in big trouble voicing.

"The foreigners" may have the healthcare right and US may be guilty of framing and throwing a person in prison? I have been told so many times in my 30 years here to go back where I came from if I think it's better,regardless of the fact most intelligent people may find improvement suggestions a good thing.

And the so called conspiracy? Not exactly a good party conversation,most people start stepping backward as if your fly is open.

Why were the Russians so confident to send tanks into Prague in 1968?Because they knew US is not going to retaliate.All the american deserters arriving in Stockholm from Vietnam,now finally a war accepted as wrong.Olof Palme,the swedish PM gunned down on his evening walk.CIA retaliation?

All the incredible Kennedy losses recounted in the past 24 hours after the senators sad death last night,most of those clearly orchestrated by somebody.

@useyoursickbrain

Great article as usual Ms.Walsh.

Many intelligent comments,some trolls came along,those were expected. So I thought - not much for me to add. Then I scrolled to the end and just had to hold back throwing up. There is always that one sicko. And you -useyourbrain- ????? is it for the night.

The only thing that grows in your "garden" you primitive wacko,is the snakes twirling on Medusa's head.Everything else would suffocate in your poisoned air that you spew.

I appologise to Dr.Tiller's family for your evil happiness over his death.My deep sorrow is with them, I am disgusted for the lack of humanity that people(loose term in your case) like you show to others in situations like these. We should grieve with all the families that have to make the hard choice of abortion, we should never condemn and kill anybody in the name of God.

I wish you would use your brain,if it's not washed out by religious jibber-jabber. Sickos like you and your friends at the Fixed News Channel may rejoice today,but when the day ends,you will be members of the terrorist/assasination wish club and I am glad I don't have to live with such a hate in my heart.
