@ Fetboy
[Read the article: Choose one: Sex or respect]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Excellent point. Though it is amazing how, even if you don't care - maybe especially if you don't - it's all part of the complete package - it comes back to you anyway. People respect and are drawn to that sense of self-possession. I think the key take away here is respect yourself and all kinds of good things happen.

I can I miss you if you won't go away
[Read the article: King Kaufman's Sports Daily]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I am so sick of Brett Favre and I'm so sick of the media adulation of him. He is not deserving of it. And the fact that he broke Marino's records just out sheer longevity is really criminal. Marino actually had talent. Favre is a decent quarterback who made as many bad decisions on the field as good ones.

Call ABC 818-560-1000
[Read the article: The "distractions" debate]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Call them and let them know!!!! What a piece of shit - our country is dealing with gigantic issues and all Snuffleupagus and Gibbie can do is worry about Bosnia sniper fire and "bitter-gate" - FREAK SHOW DISTRACTIONS!!!!!

@Stews
[Read the article: The "distractions" debate]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You are absolutely correct!! And a STATE Department "type", in general, is not that knowledgeable about the military - whether in Reagan's Adminstration, Bush I or Bush II or Clinton. It doesn't imply lack of intelligence, nor does it imply lack of respect. The DOS person calling "Brother" Officer sounds like he was trying to be respectful, and "Brother" can only make fun of him. Who is the disrespectful idiot in that story?
You know what? The military is generally not that knowledgeable about the State Dept either. Shocking, I know.
I work on the Joint Chiefs of Staff in the Pentagon and I love working with military folks. As a whole they are humble people, interested in making the world a better place. "O Brother"s arrogance against others is a rarity.

Wow 08yes
[Read the article: CNN reports Clinton, Obama camps in talks]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Listen, I can vouch for at least one person that list - I knew Paul Tully. The guy was grossly overweight, ate like crap, never exercised, smoked like a fiend, worked on campaigns or at the DNC most of his adult life, thus, he registered off the hook on the stress scale. He died of a heart attack, I promise.

Joe Whinerman
[Read the article: Joe Lieberman, ideological turncoat]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Being a Democrat, I welcome other opinions and viewpoints into my party, so it was never so much that Joe voted for the Iraq War that bothered me. It was that - even before he lost the Democratic primary for the CT Senate seat - he consistently and frequently used Republican talking points to attack his own party. Not to mention his behavior during the 2000 campaign: Letting Cheney roll over him in their debate, caring more about nicety's than strategy during the recount - publicly going completely off message and damaging Gore's efforts to win. Plus, he really is the world's biggest whiner - that was the one thing the Republicans got right in 2000.
So he will be the next Zell Miller: Democrat gives unhinged speech at Republican convention. And where is Zell Miller these days? Anyone seen him since?

Here's the thing
[Read the article: Argus Leader editor responds to RFK controversy]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]she claims she said it because the kennedys have been a lot on her mind lately due to Ted's recent diagnosis. Leaving aside the point that she has said this before, back in March, so it's not a slip of the tongue. But further to the point, if *Ted's* illness is the reason she's been thinking about the Kennedys lately, then why does she remember *Robert's* run for the presidency and not *Ted's* more recent run in 1980? Could it be because Ted took his fight to the convention and that is blamed for Carter's loss - and that's exactly what she wants to do?
Whatever her reasons, of course it was a calculated statement.

Bush's Brains v Bush's Guts
[Read the article: Next stop, 30 percent approval ratings]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Sagan may get better results using his brain over his gut, but that would be asking a lot of Bush.....
Also, this seems to perfect time to remind everyone of one of my favorite lines from Colbert's eviseration of Bush and the press corps at that giant circle jerk of an event a couple of years ago (Paraphrasing): You all look at these poll numbers having Bush's popularity at 30% and say that's a bad thing. Well, that's a glass is half empty kind of a view and the President and I, we are glass is half full kind guys... well, actually, the glass is only a third full...and that last third is really backwash. LOL I love Stephen! Calling conservative dead-enders "backwash" - awesome!
