Original article: Obama's early stumbles

What did you expect?

I think Obama and Emanuel have handled the Blago debacle quite defty. The media has not even questioned their innocence, instead all the focus is on the clowns in Congress and Burris. Looks like Fitz has bungled another case.

Obama said several things in his campaign that made me question his intelligence.

1. After Russia invasion of Georgia,he said something about it not being in the Olympic spirit. It sounds like a line from SNL and of course the media ignored it. Frightening. Do they teach world history at Harvard?

2.Proper tire inflation as an energy policy. This is the one line that really blew me away. This wasnt a gaffe. A couple days later he defended the statement. This was his alternative to drilling on US properties, check your tires. Yeah,I know the knucklehead McCain came out in support of this idiocy, but Obama said it. What would posses someone to say or believe something this moronic? W,Algore,Lurch, and Obama are all Ivy league graduates and I cant figure out how they got out of high school.

3.Bomb Pakistan. What if a Rep has said this?

4.Grandma was a racist

5.You build economies from the bottom up,whatever that means.

On the other hand I have no problem with Obama sitting down and talking with anyone, including Iran. We have been doing the exact opposite for 50 years and it doesnt seem to be working.

Probably just an honest mistake

We heard this Israel story right after the pardon but it went away quickly after Richs wife donated millions to Clinton campaigns and library. Not saying it isnt true cause Rich also gave millions to Israel, but obvious quid pro quo between Clinton and Richs wife is just too compelling.

Dem politicians and their useful idiots in the media always find some one to blame their corruption on. It is never their fault.

Always reminds me of McCains reasoning for his absurd campaign finance bill,it was the system that was corrupting the pols. Its never the pols fault.

This is the same thing going on in Illinois right not. It happens everyday in politics in both parties, but Blago,Jesse, and Emanuel got caught. Clinton got caught here. How could someone be either so greedy or have such low respect for this country to pardon a criminal like Rich? It must be the system or Israel, maybe man made global warming made him do it. Either way Holder should never work in any government position. Is Obama an imbecile? First Raines, then Johnson, then Geithner, then Richardson, then Clinton, now Holder. Surely there are some Dems somewhere not mired in corruption.

Friedman? You mean the guy who supported Bush Iraq war

till the going got tough? Have read all of his books.

But the guy turned and ran when the war got tough. Never forget an article he wrote this past year about how wonderful the airport in china was and why new york didnt have such a great government built airport. How wonderful China was. Thats when I realized this guy is not as smart as I always thought he was. Maybe he is just writing stuff to match the NYT? I dont know, but anyone stupid enough to think the infrastructe in China is superior to that of US should be checked in. I guess old Tom hasnt been to a lot of he airports in flyover country in US or China or he would never make such an absurd statement.

He is still in group of people I would love to play golf with.

Where do these knuckleheads come from?

Please read Economics in One lesson by Hazlit. We are now living the "road to serfdom". The liberals have won, this writer and the US educational system are proof. Have you been to Europe lately? Writer states both NJ and Cal do this and fails to mention both are bankrupt. My God,what has happened to this country? Its all whiners. Give me something for free. He has more than I do. I want a LCD. I have to have a BMW. Is is total moral corruption or has our educational system and media failed us?

The most troubling thing about Geithner

is not that he has cheated on his taxes every year for the past 8, its that his last job was overseeing Citibank, you now the company run by that God of Democrats,Rubin. As we now know Citi is insolvent. What was this guy doing the whole time?

There is one way to fix the economy, let the foreclosures and bankruptcies begin, protect only fdic deposits, bondholders, preferred holders and common holder all get wiped. Thats how this thing repairs itself. Throwing billions and trillions at this is useless and only lead to another boom and bust cycle if we are lucky. Buy Gold.

Insanity on so many levels

Your article demonstrates your complete ignorance of economics, human nature, and dangers of central planning. But your real problem is your new President. He is clearly an imbecile, the Ted Baxter of American politics. He thinks tire inflation is an energy policy. He thinks appeasement will be a successful strategy. Maybe Bush couldnt put a coherent thought into words, but I dont thing Obama has a coherent thought. How could he surround himself with so many corrupt figures,Hillary, emanuel, raines, johnson, holder, geitner and the list goes on.

Pretty good but a long time coming

pretty good article but where has Paglia been the past forty years? The Dems have not changed they have always been this way. They have always believed big and more government is the solution for all problems when in most cases it is the cause of all problems. Why? Its how they attain power and money. Its how Dems were able to loot Fannie and Freddie for billions in personal and political wealth and blame it on Wall Street.

I also have a hard time finding any real conservatives who have anything but disgust for W. He was just as fiscally irresponsible as his daddy and other Dems, and while the Republicans appear as corrupt as the Dems, their corruption does not seem to cost us as much as Dems.
