What happened to the Democrats?

I am a life-long member of the Democratic Party. And before that my family supported George Washington by feeding his troops with their crops. We fought in WWII; one wounded at the Battle of the Bulge; one wounded forever (internally) serving Patton's Army while liberating the camps in Europe. Staunch union members, they built the railroads. We skipped Vietnam because we were in the streets protesting LBJ's lies to us. We tuned in, turned on and dropped out...stupidly enabling Nixon to be elected. And even though we hadn't agreed with their decision to go (whether with the draft or to sign up), we wept when the boys came home wounded and disillusioned. Happily voted for Clinton, twice. Thanks for the Family Leave Act, Bill. It helped us in a crisis. We don't support a single Bush policy. Not one. Is that liberal enough for you?

So excuse me if I want to know what makes me an "anti-illegal right wing nut"? What am I missing here about wanting our laws enforced and our national borders respected? Do you not understand that the illegal immigration supporters are right wing rich Republicans globalists? I laugh when I hear the conservative Salinas Valley growers cry about how they won't be able to get the crops in without slave labor. At the turn of the century, their same ilk cried that the factories would close without child slave labor. Somehow they managed to become wealthy anyway and driven by unrelenting greed now have gone the way of slave labor again by outsourcing it to Asia. I want the illegal immigrants out of the country by any means available and I have absolutely no sympathy for any drug dealer of any color. Check out the number of shootings done in Salinas just this past weekend not to mention the year to date. That's the result of what's now a Mexican town full of illegals. And isn't it great the Mexican trucks will be driving throughout the U. S. starting this Thursday. Hmmm, wonder what they'll be carrying up our way? Aw, to hell with national security, North American Union here we come...over our dead bodies. Hey Felix, contrary to your racist speech the other day, you're not going to decide our immigration policy. It's been no secret that the agenda from the South is to overwhelm us by numbers. But, Felix who will you have to wait on your rich when there's no one else left in Mexico? Although the government says they can't deport illegal immigrants, you'll see how fast they'll bring in their co-conspirators from Iraq when the whole fiasco crumbles.

It's all about a union busting, war on the middle class. FDR's "New Deal" saved many in my family during the depression. My father went into the CCC to work building highways and parks. The Bush family agenda has always been to dismantle it completely. And doncha just love how Bush spent Labor Day...spreading more Iraq propaganda and at a "free" trade conference giving away more of our jobs...classic! We need a new "New Deal".

Don't be fools. We need those borders closed and a mass deportation to begin. Neither the present day Democrats or the Republicans have the balls to do it so maybe Lou Dobbs would be the best candidate. So more power to the border agents. I only wish they were better shots to even the playing field and they'd send some of them up to Salinas. ICE where the hell are you?

Original article: How 1968 changed Hillary

Hillary 09

Well boys, I had a bookbag in 1968 and before that. 1968 radicalized a lot of Dems but ultimately I was wrong to turn my back on the system after MLK and RFK were killed. Thanks to the immaturity of people like me we allowed Nixon into the White House and it was a horror. Humpfrey would not have been as bad.

For the Hillary haters, it must have really galled you that she came out of law school and was able to work on the Nixon Impeachment team. Yes, that was her at the table with her big coke bottle glasses on. Many of us look better now than we did then.

That her idol is Eleanor Roosevelt I'm sure drives the Bushies insane...determined as they've all been since their Grandaddy to dismantle the New Deal. And, they've almost done it. Hillary is the only one who has a chance of beating them back...not only with her history but with the people she'll bring with her as appointees. Archangel Obama is too much an unknown entity for me.

Onward to Denver. That's where it used to be (and always should be) decided anyway rather than the candidate being annointed ahead of time.

Original article: Thank you, Rush Limbaugh!

Thank You, Rush Limbaugh

The attacks that Hillary sustains from the so-called "progressive talk show hosts" are appalling. Though generally they demean her through mocking comments, Randi should calm down; she's been raving like a shock-jock for a long time. I actually did not know the exact comment she made but seeing it in print only confirms that I don't need to tune in again. Sad to say but Randi and Stephanie don't matter to me anymore and that's quite a feat it itself as I was so happy to see the field on radio a little more evened out. Does she even understand that she can never comment on Imus, Limbaugh, and their ilk? She's become one of them.

Their job, as far as I am concerned, is to remain neutral toward our candidates and spend their energies taking on the lies and record of the Republicans...a full time job for anyone in the media. I think Tom Hartman comes closest to filling that role. The demonization of Hillary and elevation of Obama to God-like status is rather immature and silly and neither are true.

If we lose the election we will have these people to thank and we should never let them forget what they've done.
