Well, at least you're admitting that they're exploitative and misguided.
But, what you think isn't really the point here.
The point is that they're getting away with being exploitative and misguided, and they are influencing millions of people.
When Peggy Noonan can go on a talk show and make such a pathetically ridiculous statement, and the host doesn't call her on it, there is something seriously wrong.
My mistake, the statement was made in print.
Same point holds, though.
...Bernie Kerik will be convicted before the election and sentenced to 9-11 years.
Reality has a well-known liberal bias!
Which is why it's important to discredit the messenger

Um, I BELIEVE the US Constitution does that.
The Constitution certainly guarantees those rights, but it often takes litigation to enforce them, and to get rid of unconstitutional laws. Litigation takes attorneys and money, hence the existence of the ACLU. The Constitution is a document. Holding it up doesn't stop stupid legislatures from coming up with laws that abridge people's rights.
And if the ACLU protects all my civil liberties, why aren't they protecting my 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms?
This is a link to the ACLU's position on the Second Amendment:

I understand that you may disagree with this position, but I'm not sure why this automatically makes the ACLU an evil organization, and their positions on anything else wrong.
I realize that the water that comes out of my tap is clean and safe. It just tastes bad to me. The taste and odor of chlorine are nauseating at best. But, I do use it for most cooking. However, it is very difficult for me to drink.
I used to put a plastic liter bottle in the recycling bin every day. It just seemed incredibly wasteful. So, I went out and bought both a Nalgene bottle and a Klean Kanteen. Despite the potential health risks of plastics, I like the Nalegene bottle better. The top is easier to put on and take off, and I can detect no taste. The Klean Kanteen seems to impart a metallic taste.
I fill my bottle every day from a five-gallon jug that I keep in my kitchen, which sits on top of one of those ceramic dispensers. I use one of the bottles from Crystal Springs water delivery service, and I refill it at my local produce market, which has carbon-filtered water or reverse osmosis water. Five gallons costs $2.13. I think you can also refill water bottles at Wild Oats and/or Whole Foods. Of course, you have to be able to get to one of those places.
...on this partnership with LG. Because we Mac users are getting tired of waiting (and all the while, paying the same subscription fees as PC users).
more than forcing her to cover up her hair and face because the very sight of such things will incite every man around her to acts of violent sexual depravity. It says to a woman, "You're nothing more than a sexual object."
This is the first I've heard of women being allowed off "lots of time" after they have a child, at least in the US. Are you referring to FMLA, which is unpaid leave, only goes up to 12 weeks, and is available to men as well as women?
As for the rest of your complaints, I'm sorry you made such a lousy choice of spouse. I'm sure you're not the only one, male or female.
Also, talking about the commodification of females in this instance doesn't mean that men aren't commodified as well. I'm sure there are many places on the internet where men can talk about that. Let me know how bitter women are tolerated on such websites.
...I would be as ridiculous as you. But, I have not done so.
Many women choose to take off far longer than 12 weeks.
Yes, and they may not have a job at the end of that time.
You need to differentiate between what some women choose to do and what they are allowed to do.
I also set up a MySpace account, so that I could keep in touch my two nieces. But, you can only see so much. For example, you don't have access to messages that are sent to them or by them. Those are accessed much like a private e-mail account. But, it is pretty amazing what kids will put on their pages, and the conversations that they will carry on in public via the "Comments" section.
But what's Chuckabee going to do now? I'll miss his plastic visage staring out from behind you on the dais!
Your post directed to "Anonymous Childfree by Choice" missed the mark, I think.
Yes, it is a good thing she didn't have children. That was the whole point of her letter, your attempt to paint her as a bitch notwithstanding.
And, judging by the number of miserable parents I see out there, it would probably be better if a lot more people didn't have children.
I keep going back and reading King's e-mail. That this comes from a "professional" journalist with "20 plus" years of experience is just breathtaking. It was obviously written in a state of high dudgeon, and can only be seen as petulant, childish and very, very unprofessional.
How many of us have written an e-mail like this? Probably a lot us, but we had the good sense to "save as draft", go out and get some fresh air, then come back and delete it. And we're not even professional journalists!
I'll bet King and his good buddies are sitting around in some swanky bar, swilling single-malt scotch, and joking about us "rubes" who read blogs. But, I predict we'll get the last laugh. At the risk of using too many movie references in one sentence, the angry villagers with pitchforks are mad as hell, and we're not going to take it anymore.
