Sadly I am skimming this post
[Read the article: The latest revelations of lawbreaking, torture and extremism ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I'm past the point of outrage at the gang of criminals occupying our White House. Their serial disregard for The American Way has become a tired expectation.
Our vaunted system of checks and balances is failing. The stewards of congressional power remain, to me, as the only viable control. As such, they deserve to endure maxumum outrage from us, their attentive constituents, now and into the future until they get their actions in line with their responsibilities.
Pissing and moaning about criminal behavior in the executive branch isn't helping me. Will it help the mouth-breathing congress? I sincerely hope so.
I feel like spitting but I'm afraid I'll vomit.
Thank you again Glenn.

@Steve-R
[Read the article: The latest revelations of lawbreaking, torture and extremism ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]How about tar, feathers and bus tickets home for congress, beltway media and every political operative that can be found in DC?
Blue tarps too to keep the buses clean.

Just Ice Please
[Read the article: The latest revelations of lawbreaking, torture and extremism ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Thank you Jim White.
I think it has a nice ring in public, and hurts no one. If my favorite diner charges me the same for ice as soda then good for them. They make the ice and wash my cup after all.
I think this one has legs. I'm smiling again.

Thank you Mr. Timberman and bebop
[Read the article: AT&T, other telecoms, buy victory in lawsuits]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]But big red bell pepper as a loin cloth?
A ceremonial codpiece perhaps. Loincloth not so much.

Let America savor the brilliance of this legislation Harry
[Read the article: Harry Reid works to ensure telecom amnesty, warrantless surveillance]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]If this FISA reform is so necessary then let congress read, comprehend and share the language of the legislation with their constituencies before is presented for an official vote.
The furtive behavior surrounding this bill makes me certain that it is not worthy of your institution.
Transparency in governance is essential to the American Way.
Refusing to take a public position on this bill demonstrates cowardice and/or deceit.
Support Senator Dodd.

The Passion of the Pundit
[Read the article: Abject stupidity defined]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]When something is done again and again it is assumed that it comes from the deliberate judgment of reason. On these grounds custom has the force of law, and abolishes a law, and is the interpreter of laws.
THOMAS AQUINAS (1225-1274), Summa Theologiae.
The authoritarian SOP is to insert more passion when facts are not cooperating. The mildly disinterested sheeple are still vulnerable to this din of crude conformity, however the herds of mildly disinterested are thinning- thanks in large part to your work Glenn.
Thank you.

Corporate Vigilantism
[Read the article: Jay Rockefeller channels Dick Cheney's fear-mongering to urge telecom amnesty]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]If we are to defeat this Existential Threat to our nation then we must Take The Gloves Off! Don't you people understand they want to kill us!
If we don't break laws then we will be accused of not being passionate enough in our lust for revenge!
Post 9-11 Justice isn't what you think it is, obviously.
/sarcasm off
Besides, telecoms need to take a bite of this apple too before it rots. Just like the rest of the "in crowd" of companies friendly to this administration. The natives are getting restless about all this unaccountable spending that resides in black budgets and wars of aggression.

Why did you BOLD the entire article?
[Read the article: WSJ Op-Ed page decries hatred of the president]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Perhaps so OLD PEOPLE can read it too?

"long obsessed with punishing"
[Read the article: Interviews with AP executives on the Bilal Hussein travesty]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]How much of this obsession with punishment is intended for the perpetrator and how much is intended as the salve of vengeance soothing the authoritarian flock. Delivering justice to the bad sheep and teaching the world that they are right through might is all they've got left.
Let us hope the bottom of the well is not much further.

@Mr. Dirks and @perris
[Read the article: Anatomy and significance of Monday's FISA victory]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You both make solid points about next steps.
when you put someone who's truthful and someone who's a liar side by side, they can usually tell the difference
Parlay that scene with the very real theme of theft portrayed by perris and I see a solid foundation upon which this movement can counter the next wave of PR coming from the moneyed lobbyists we face.
The news dungeons at Fox, CNN, ABC, NBC and CBS need to embrace this stark contrast for the mildly disinterested masses to jump on board. Blogs and occassional newspapers are not enough. Olbermann is a good start, Moyers makes a great follow-up.
Crack the seal of moral outrage that lies sleeping all around us.

Dear Senator Kennedy
[Read the article: Reid and company target the true enemy: "Dodd and his allies"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I have sent you several letters attempting to illustrate that your current obsession with bipartisanship is your achilles heel. Bipartisanship only works when both sides have common ground.
Your waffling support of Senator Dodd's stand for the Constitution this past week leads me to believe that the common ground you share with the "other side of the aisle" is criminal wrongdoing.
There simply aint nothing else that you can tell me sir if I see you anywhere but on Senator Dodd's side for this telecom imunity issue.
I've suspected that your power in the Senate has been subject to influence by big money ever since you publicly opposed the Nantucket Sound Wind Power initiative. You, your party and your constituency have everything to gain by supporting it.
It's time to start proving me wrong about your preference for corporate money over fulfilling your oath of office.

Camouflaged exit polling all day in MA
[Read the article: Chris Matthews is right ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Probably in NH too. The radio and teevee commentary was consistent in the message that they can't publish the exit polling yet, BUT "things are looking really good for Obama an McCain".
Given that Obama is highly dependent on younger voters, I am convinced that this demographic was comforted by the reporting that so many votes were already cast for their guy that their's was not necessary. Conversely, the staunch republicans were driven out, also in record numbers, to ensure that their vote was counted.
Hillary got the vote out and Obama didn't this time. Inspiring citizens to participate who traditionally don't should always be commended and with another record turnout in NH, Hillary deserves congratulations for winning this contest.
Dare I hope that Edwards can do the same in SC?

I've heard that accent before
[Read the article: The U.S. military inflicts more damage on its own credibility]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It sounds just like the Great Cornholio from Beavis and Butthead.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXSF3ZhZNLc
From the indispensible wiki:
He is the guardian of the Almighty Bunghole
Cornholio is also a pervert to some degree: he has repeatedly asked if anybody wanted to see his bunghole
