Original article: "We are not quitters"

@Faulkner -- Believe it or not, I AM for stimulus.

But only targeted stimulus. I think there was a shitload of pork in this bill (even though Obama says there was none). And that pisses me off. We all know there was massive pork in this bill. So he's not being truthful. Also, I don't think we had to spend all that money at once. I would have preferred if it went out in three flights, giving us time to evaluate whether each flight was working before committing the next. This would give us time to tweak are efforts and make sure they are working. I also don't see why Congress and the public were robbed of a chance to actually read the bill before it was rammed through. That's a huge broken promise by Obama, which disappoints me and makes me think he's not really about change at all.

As for Joan, I really have nothing against her personally. I just disagree with her politically 95% of the time. And I also find her brand of journalism lazy and irresponsible. In our latest exchange, she is warning me that my posts will be deleted if I continue to call her "Joaney-Baloney." Can you believe it? Here she is -- a major league name caller herself. And I called her on it. You can read my response to her just a few posts back, if she hasn't deleted it yet. She's being such a phony about this name calling thing that I think she's embarrassing herself.

Anyway, hope you're gamefully employed and doing well.

Joan asks: "How long will it take Michelle Malkin and friends to find some way to tear Bethea down?"

Oh, I dunno. Maybe as long as it took the thugs in the Democratic Party to slime Joe the Plumber. What goes around comes around, Joanie.

@Joan: I'm slipping?

This from the woman who once "reported" that Joe the Plumber was a "wealthy Ohio businessman." My, my, how soon we forget our journalistic shortcomings.

As for your swipe at poor old Joe "whose name isn't Joe and who isn't a plumber" -- You're wrong, as usual, Joanie. His middle name is Joseph and that's what he goes by. In families whose father and son both share the same first name, it is common to call the son by his middle name so they don't both come running every time someone yells, "Hey, Joe." This was the case in my own house growing up. AND -- he IS a plumber, he's just not licensed. You see, you don't have to be licensed to work as plumber in Ohio as long as you are working on behalf of a plumber who IS licensed -- which Joe always has.

Joan: "MSNBC's Chris Matthews let out an audible groan of "Oh God" when Jindal strutted out, and his reaction was prescient."

Oh, yeah, that's exactly how commentators should behave -- in a totally transparent, totally partisan manner. Easy to see why you'd admire such a lack of professionalism, Joan. I guess you and Chrissie belong to the school of "journalism" that teaches -- when you lack it, flaunt it. What a squirm-fest for all the real journalists who had to watch it.

@Saggy -- Gutzy post

It's tough to speak words of truth when there's an army of know-it-alls out there ready and waiting to pounce on you for being politically incorrect. To them, it really doesn't matter whether what you've said here is true or not. They simply don't want to hear it. Because it doesn't fit their template. But you and your mother lived it. And I've seen it too. It's true. It's sad, but it's all very true.

@ guidecca -- Who's OBABMA?

A babbling Obama perhaps?

Original article: Class warfare? Bring it on

Joan: "I've heard the claim out of the mouths of MSNBC's Michelle Bernard and former Maryland Gov. Bob Ehrlich on "Hardball" this past week. But they're Republicans paid to spout talking points."

Uh-huh. And you're a liberal paid to spout talking points, Joanie. What else is new?

Original article: The shame of Michael Steele

@Joan -- Shame? Oh, puleeze. Must you overstate everything?

The only reason Limbaugh has been getting so much attention is that Obama himself called him out (although not precisely in these words) as the head of the Republican Party. Since then, that has been the Democratic strategy -- to isolate and demonize Limbaugh as the Republican leader in order to paint the Republicans in an unfavorable light. You, Joanie, are simply jumping on the bandwagon once again and spouting the liberal talking points you are paid to spout. Nothing new here, I'm afraid.

@ wellwater -- Trolling?

I've been posting here regularly for more than two years. I guess your idea of a troll is someone who says something you don't like. LOL with that.

Isn't it fun to watch challenged folks post in duplicate?

@Faulkner -- I think Jay Cost at RCP put the Limbaugh thing in perspective today.

"I'd argue that Rush Limbaugh is not the "leader" of the Republican Party. Limbaugh is a radio talk show host - a very important one who has 15 million listeners a week. But we're talking about a political party, and therefore electoral politics, which is a mass phenomenon. Limbaugh has influence in the party - that's for sure - but he is not the leader. He cannot remake the "Party of Lincoln" into the "Party of Limbaugh," nor does he have the power to define the image of the party for the mass public."

I think the Steele/Limbaugh joust is overblown and the media is fanning the flames. Steele's primary function, after all, is to raise oodles of money. Much like Howard Dean. Dean had very little to do with formulating the party platform over the last few years and I don't think Steele will either.

That said -- I find it much ado about nothing.

Hope you're doing well.

@Joan: "Facts are facts: He (Limbaugh) was... hopped-up (at CPAC).

My God, Joanie, have you NO decency? NONE? You claim to know for a fact that Limbaugh was on drugs at CPAC? Did he call you and tell you this or did you draw blood from him and do your own personal drug test? What slander. What slime. I thought this was the age of responsibility. I guess you didn't get the memo, Joanie. This kind of hackneyed, irresponsible, is supposed to be unacceptable these days. And yet you continue. Didn't your parents raise you any better than this?
