Team America or Clinton retreads?

Golly, Obama's picks seem like deja vu all over again. THIS is change we can believe in??? I think not. Let's have a look:

John Podesta: Part of the team organizing Obama’s transition effort.

Under President Clinton: Chief of Staff.

Rahm Emmanuel. Chief of Staff.

Under President Clinton: Assistant to the President for Political Affairs, then Senior Advisor to the President for Policy and Strategy

Greg Craig: White House Counsel.

Under President Clinton: Longtime Clinton friend who represented the president during the impeachment proceedings.

Tim Geithner: Treasury Secretary

Under President Clinton: Served at the U.S. Treasury Department as Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Monetary and Financial Policy, then Senior Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Affairs, then Assistant Secretary for International Affairs.

Larry Summers: Chairman of the Economic Council.

Under President Clinton: Secretary of the Treasury for the last year and a half of the Clinton administration.

Hillary Clinton: Secretary of State.

Under President Clinton: Long-suffering wife of our beloved, philandering president.

Eric Holder: Attorney General.

Under President Clinton: Deputy Attorney General

Janet Napolitano: Secretary of Homeland Security.

Under President Clinton: Appointed as United States attorney for the District of Arizona.

Susan Rice: U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations

Under President Clinton: Director for International Organizations and Peacekeeping on the National Security Council, then Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for African Affairs, then Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs,

Not yet formerly announced:

Commerce Secretary: Bill Richardson

Under President Clinton: A foreign policy envoy, then U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, then Secretary of Energy.

Tom Daschle: Secretary of Health and Human Services

Under President Clinton: Democratic Minority Leader

So where the heck is that change we can believe in? Wait, I know, maybe Obama will make Dennis Kucinich Secretary of Extraterrestrial Affairs.

PS: Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss.

@ luminesce -- "Hitchens and his arguments are not important. I'm certainly not going to waste my life's precious time on them."

My god, I laughed so hard I cried when I read this. I even blew my Diet Coke out my nose. Luckily it missed my keyboard.

So far, my dear, you've posted at least half a dozen times defending Joan against her ass-kicking by Hitchens, but then, when challenged to tell me specifically which "premises of all Hitchen's arguments are idiotic, shallow, and pathetic" and why -- your magnificent comeback is "Hitchens and his arguments are not important. I'm certainly not going to waste any of my life's precious time on them." Now THAT"S hysterical. The fact is, you've got nothing, you poor thing. Just like Joan last night. You wouldn't happen to be her debating mentor, would you?

@ luminesce -- My god, you're as ill-equipped for intelligent debate as Joan has proven to be with Hitchens.

Only you're about a thousand times less equipped than Joan. Please, do us all a favor and stop embarrassing yourself on this thread. It's starting to give me douche chills.

Time for a repost, detailing Joan's embarrassing debate against Christopher Hitchens

It was fun to watch Christopher Hitchens make it so incredibly obvious that Joan has never flown in his intellectual stratum. As he laid out his arguments clearly and concisely on Hardball last night, Joan would sort of scrunch up her face and squint like a child trying to figure out what the adults were talking about. Time and time again, she had to depend on what seemed like her only comeback, which was, “That’s ridiculous.” She said it so often, it quickly became as painful as it was pitiful.

When it was obvious that Joan was in way over her head, she actually accused Hitchens of being condescending because he had the audacity to call her Miss Walsh! To which Hitchens just rolled his eyes and drolly replied, “If I had said Joan, you'd have said I was being condescending.” But it didn’t end there. Joan actually doubled down on her asininity by insisting Hitchens was being condescending to her because she had dinner at his house once!

But it gets worse! How about this exchange:

WALSH: That's your opinion, Christopher.

HITCHENS: Well, guess what? Guess who's saying it? That's a very clever thing to say. Should I ask would you prefer I uttered your opinion? What a fatuous remark.

Or how about Joan’s great comeback during this exchange:

WALSH: I'm not going to say that they (the Clintons) are perfect, but I believe you cherry-pick the worst possible interpretation, as well as facts that aren't necessarily facts, and come up with this analysis.

HITCHENS: Name one.

WALSH: I think this is a terrific...

HITCHENS: Name one.

WALSH: I think this is a terrific...

HITCHENS: Name one.

WALSH: I'm going to step around the rubble today, Christopher.

HITCHENS: One. One.

Rubble? What rubble? The only rubble I could see on my TV screen was Joan staring at the camera like a well-slapped ass.

It was pathetic.

@ luminesce - I'm laughing out loud again. And Diet Coke is blowing out my nose.

You're SUCH an imbecile. But the funniest thing of all is, you fancy yourself as some kind of enlightened intellectual. Please, by all means, and for the sake of us all, stay in Joan's corner. You belong there.
