How liberals act at political events

Ah, yes, the warm, wonderful and all-inclusive liberals are way above this kind of behavior. See for yourself on this You Tube video of a McCain parade in New York:

They're so much more open minded than those evil republicans.

@ Faulkner -- Good question.

"And as far as Daily Kos is concerned, you and THawk and the rest of your rightist cohort have often posted links to conservative articles, or simply cut-and-pasted from them, and expressed derision at those who dismiss those who deign to question the reliability of those sources as insufficiently informed. Why is it only right-wing sites that are "telling the truth"?"

No, it is not only right-wing sites that tell the truth. I don't mind reading reposts from other readers from the left, as long as they are grounded in truth. In fact, I spend a lot of time at Real Clear Politics to be sure I'm getting both sides of the story. But I often find at Salon (and particuarly with Joan) that they are not truthful. They don't even pretend to be. The Daily Kos is the worst offender. Trying to tie Joe the plumber to the Keating 5 -- and right on the heels of their "report" that Sarah Palin's baby was really her daughters. Have they no shame? I like truth and balance. Otherwise you're posting in an echo chamber.

Have a good weekend :)

@ domini -- Joe's financial profile

"Joe the plumber doesn't make enough money to even get a loan to buy that business. He's a liar."

How the heck do you know? Are you privy to his savings account? If not, don't worry. I'm sure the MSM is working overtime to dig that up too.

@ Joan -- "Joe Wurzelbacher, an apparently wealthy Toledo businessman..."

What is your source for claiming Joe the Plumber is "an apparently wealthy Toledo businessman, Joan?"

@ domino

"Mr. Wurzelbacher said he objects to Mr. Obama’s plans to raise income taxes on incomes above $250,000. He said he makes no where near that much money but he would not say how much he makes or if he ever expects to make $250,000.'

Right. He said he makes nowhere near that much money. But do you no how much money he has in savings? In equities? In annuities? Does he own a house he can take a second postion on? Do you know his total assets? Do you know if he has enough to buy into a business and leverage the balance with a small business loan? You have absoluitely no idea, do you? In fact, you know squat.

"Court records from a divorce show Mr. Wurzelbacher made $40,000 in 2006."

So what. See statement above.

Anything else?

@ domini -- You're wrong again, my friend

Charlie Rangel, Chairman of the powerful Ways and Means Committee owes 9 times as much in back taxes as Joe the Plumber. And, gosh, somehow I don't think derelict Charlie would have any trouble getting a loan. All you have to do is pay off your back taxes first, which BTW -- and as in Charlie's case -- are usually taxes in dispute. So if and when Joe has to pay those taxes, he can use assets (like his house) to buy into a business, leveraged by a small business loan.

PS: Back taxes disputes happen all the time. No biggie. Just the MSM doing their best to discredit Joe. Maybe they should turn their guns on Charlie now. As if.

@ antineocon -- Surprisingly?

"Surprisingly, the Washington Post and the LA Times have endorsed Obama."

Errr... what planet are you from, antineocon?

It was nice meeting you, but I'm due back on Earth in ten minutes.

@ Juliebird -- Good for Joe!

"Joe says he intended to shake Barack Obama up with his question, Do you believe in the American Dream?"

Good for him. Finally, someone had the guts to ask Obama a real question. The MSM certainly isn't doing it. As him being a "sham" -- pah-leeeze. Keep on reading the Daily Kos, Juliebird. They love manipulating drones like you.

Hee. Hee.

@ Joan writes -- "Joe Wurzelbacher, an apparently wealthy Toledo businessman..."

What is your source for claiming Joe the Plumber is "an apparently wealthy Toledo businessman, Joan?" Or did you just make that up. I think it's more likely the later, based on all the info that's out on Joe now. However, I'm sure Rule #1 in "Joan's Hackneyed Rules of Journalism" will remain intact -- "If ya got nothing, make up whatever serves you."

What horribly transparent drivel you write, Joan. Tell me, did you ever actually aspire to be a real journalist? Have you ever had a twinge of regret for being dishonest with your readers?

@ Hutman -- Thanks for proving my point

"Good to see others doing such an able job of pointing out the fallacies in the arguments of people like virtue001, who whines that the media "slimed" poor, poor Joe the Fluffer."

Joe the Fluffer? Golly, Hutman, who just slimed him yourself. Thanks for helping me prove my point. Yes, sad but true -- anyone who dares ask a question that makes The One look less than swell must be destroyed.

Joan Walsh on "nuance and insight and compassion"

"But what's really remarkable about the interview is listening to Obama talk with nuance and insight and compassion about issues that have moral, legal and political ramifications." -- Joan

Joan, you wouldn't know "nuance and insight and compassion" if it slapped you upside your empty head. Tell me, do you still stand by your report that Joe the Plumber is a "wealthy Toledo businessman?" A whole lotta "nuance and insight and compassion" going on there, doncha think?

Klytus -- Actually, it's "bated breath" not "baited breath"

"Bated" is just a shortened form of "abated" which means to bring down, lower or depress. So, 'bated breath' means to slow down your breathing or hold your breath.

@ RobbySh -- You haven't caught on yet, have you?

Here at Salon, The One can never be wrong. He can only be misquoted, misinterpreted or misunderstood. It's that simple. But if there's ever any "explaining" to do, Joan Walsh is here to tell us what Obama "really said."
