No Armenian Geoncide Resolution. Democrats Retreat.
[Read the article: Genocide: An inconvenient truth]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]According to the NYT: "Until today, the resolution appeared to be on a path to House passage, with strong support from the House speaker, Nancy Pelosi of California. It was approved last week by the House Foreign Affairs Committee. But this evening, a group of group of senior House Democrats had made it known they were planning to ask the leadership to drop plans for a vote on the measure."
Apparently, a backlash to the true motives of the Democratic Party in trying to bring this resolution to the floor have been exposed as purely political and audaciously irresponsible, designed solely to destroy our relationship with Turkey -- a country that's absolutely pivotal to our success in Iraq.
As Thomas Sowell pointed out this week at Real Clear Politics:
"It is hard to avoid the conclusion that this resolution is just the latest in a series of Congressional efforts to sabotage the conduct of that war.
"Large numbers of American troops and vast amounts of military equipment go to Iraq through Turkey, one of the few nations in the Islamic Middle East that has long been an American ally.
"Turkey has also thus far refrained from retaliating against guerrilla attacks from the Kurdish regions of Iraq onto Turkish soil. But the Turks could retaliate big time if they chose.
"There are more Turkish troops on the border of Iraq than there are American troops within Iraq.
"Turkey has already recalled its ambassador from Washington to show its displeasure over Congress' raising this issue. The Turks may or may not stop at that."
Mr. Kamiya's tediously overwritten article it was transparent as the motives of the Democratic Party itself. In fact, it would have been laughable if American lives weren't at stake. Thank God, both efforts to get the resolution passed will now fail.
PS: Even Murtha lobbied Pelosi to stop it.

Another Bush victory. House fails to override SCHIP veto.
[Read the article: Another SCHIP family smeared]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Guess the democrats can stop trotting out 12-year-olds already covered under the present SCHIP plan. And Paul Simon can take his suit off and go back to sleep... whatever that was about.
Let's see, that's complete funding for victory in Iraq (now that the al Qaeda is running like scared little rabbits), victory on Bush's FISA plan yesterday and victory on upholding his SCHIP veto today. Hmmm... who's in charge here? Certainly not the majority.

So what precisely is this article meant to tell us, Joan?
[Read the article: Richard Corliss: Rush didn't threaten me]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Is it a confession that you haven’t a clue about who you think Rush Limbaugh “bullied?” Or is it meant to point out that you’re a second-rate reporter who tracks down leads that go nowhere, but writes about them anyway simply to link Rush Limbaugh’s name to Al Goldstein’s -- no matter how transparent your motives?
Wow. Talk about journalism at its ugliest.
So let’s review: Now we know the answer to something that was never a question -- Rush Limbaugh didn’t threaten Richard Corliss. Yippee! Perhaps in the weeks to come you can grace us with some more of your journalistic integrity by writing yet another article on yet another reporter Limbaugh didn’t threaten. And another. And another.
What a sad joke. I guess that’s why your meager following will always be able to find you “debating” right wing hacks like Pat Buchanan on obscure cable news shows, rather than ever mixing it up with real journalists on shows like “Meet the Press.”

Joan’s “Bully” just made monkeys out of Harry Reid and 40 other Democratic Senators -- to the tune of $4,200,200, no less!
[Read the article: Richard Corliss: Rush didn't threaten me]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]For those of you who haven’t heard (and you’d never hear it at Salon.com), Rush Limbaugh has successfully repurposed the letter Harry Reid and 40 other Democratic Senators sent his boss at Clear Channel -- the one denouncing the Media Matter’s "phony soldier" fantasy. And he's done it with creative precision. You see, Limbaugh put the letter up for auction on ebay last week. And at 1:00 PM today, the final bid came in at $2,100,100. This money will now be donated to the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation, which provides college scholarships for the children of Marines and law enforcement officials killed in action.
Limbaugh will also match the final bid with his own money before making the donation, bringing the grand total to a whopping $4,200,200. He's also invited Harry Reid and the 40 Democratic Senators who wasted taxpayer time and money composing and signing the letter to match the final bid. But I doubt he'll be hearing from the likes of them. They're probably too busy glued to Hillary Clinton's Media Matters, so they can get the next story wrong, too.
Yes, Rush Limbaugh — Joan’s so-called “bully” — has now survived the bullying tactics of our Democratic Congress on a private citizen, only to turn the tables on them and make them look like the complete morons they are. And that's quite an accomplishment for someone Joan still tries to persuade us -- “is losing his marbles.”

Chris Dodd to block FISA bill? Not!
[Read the article: Chris Dodd to block FISA bill]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Reid plans to bring it to the floor mid-November. Guess he's embarrassed by what Ruch Limbaugh did to him and 40 other Democratic Senators today.

To Garry Owen
[Read the article: Richard Corliss: Rush didn't threaten me]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"Virtue, you simple-minded tool, the eBay bids are from morons like you who have no intention of coming through with the money if they win."
Gary Owen, you poor, poor, simple-minded basement-dweller, the final bid was made by a woman named Betty Casey. She is a trustee of the Eugene B. Casey Foundation, which donates money to hospitals, hospices, colleges, and private schools. These include the Eugene B. Casey Diabetes Education Center at Suburban Hospital, the Eugene B. Casey Swim Center, and the Eugene B. Casey Academic Center, and the Casey Home Hospice.
I think I hear your mother calling you again, Garry. So go make your bed. Then change your user name to Jim Monatague and hurry back to make a fool out of yourself yet again.
