@ metasailor -- Huh?

"I think Clark would make a great cabinet member, particularly Secretary of Defense. Along with John Edwards as Attorney General." -- metasailor

As I said in my previous post (the one that you said you agreed with) detailing Clark's horrible performance on "Face the Nation" not long ago -- "Clark is a rather dim light, who really isn't quipped to be speaking out on shows like Face the Nation." The things this man said on that show proves he has a horrific sense of judgment. That's why the Obama campaign had to reject Clark's comments the very next day. And you want to make him Secretary of Defense?!!! I'm sure Obama doesn't.

And Edwards as Attorney General?!!! My God, the man is about to be exposed as a first class philanderer who gave birth to a love child while his wife was coping with cancer. In the next few weeks, he'll be making Bill Clinton look like St. Anthony. Don't you read the news, bucko? This story is about to explode. Why do you think Obama's people stopped talking to Edwards months ago?

You need to get out of the echo chamber and start reading everything that's out there -- warts and all.

@ metasailor -- On Clark and Edwards

I follow your logic on Wesley Clark. However, we'll have to agree to disagree on that one. I think the man is, shall we say – "intellectually challenged."

On the John Edwards for Attorney General issue, you said:

"Even if it was all true - which it seems clear to me not - ***so what***? Edwards' personal life has nothing to do with his skills."

I disagree, if it's true, that is. And if it IS true, then the man was boinking someone on the side while his wife was fighting cancer. And then he secretly had a baby with that woman! I'd say that points to a whopping lack of character. After all, New York Attorney Elliot Spitzer resigned looking like a slapped ass for a lot less than that. You can't pretend to be the personification of all that's good and righteous when you're a complete sleeze on the homefront.

We'll see what happens. But I think the truth is going to have to come out in the next few weeks. Democrats are loathe to give Edwards a role at the convention untill this is resolved. And he can't hide at home or in public bathrooms forever.

@ mark0101 -- "McClelland has admitted to seeing a 8 t0 9 ft tall alien"

That's nothing. Jimmy Swaggert once saw a 40-ft tall Jesus.

@ mark0101 -- Correction

It was Oral Roberts who once saw a 40-ft tall Jesus.

@ Joan - " Whites don't have those stories. We're sheltered and privileged, mostly"

Earth to Joan:

According to the last census there are about 15.3 million poor whites in America. The black population has about 8.1 million below the poverty line. With the total number of Americans below the poverty line at around 33 million this means that nearly half of the poor people in America are white. And yes, Joan, being far from sheltered, I'm sure they have "those" stories.

John Edwards: 99% scum bag

Edwards explained why he denied tabloid stories about his affair, saying they weren't completely true. Then he added, "Being 99 percent honest is no longer enough."

The man is delusional. He actually thinks he was being 99% honest!

He also said he told his wife about the affair back in 2006 when it happened. I guess that explains why he was in the woman’s hotel room a few weeks ago. Then he said that he never made payments to the woman to keep her quiet. But, gee, just a few days ago, Edwards former national finance chairman, Fred Baron, said he HAD made payments to the woman to keep her quiet about the affair -- but without Edwards knowledge. Yeah, r-r-right, without Edwards' knowledge.

And let's not forget, this is the same man who told us that character counted. As in these remarks about Bill Clinton: "I think this president has shown a remarkable disrespect for his office, for the moral dimensions of leadership, for his friends, for his wife, for his precious daughter. It is breathtaking to me the level to which that disrespect has risen."

But the creepiest part of his confession was that he stressed to Woodruff that he cheated on Elizabeth in 2006 only after her cancer was in remission. I guess to Edwards, "remission" is a green light to jump into the sack with your videographer.

Unfortunately, this story isn't over yet. Because Edwards is still lying. And will have to confess yet again. Guess he's going for 100% scum bag.
