Should we just call this the Carol Richards/Rufus 11 chat room? Or should we hope that someday it'll be Letters to the Editor again?
[Read the article: McCain campaign baits Obama on Clinton slurs]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Jeeze, can you guys possibly post more letters? If so, please be sure to keep making them as long as possible. Seriously, you two really DO serve as excellent examples of why readers should be limited to three posts a day at Salon. How about giving the rest of us a break and doing it voluntarily? And try limiting what you DO post to three paragraphs for a change. Really, guys, com'on already. Enough is enough. If you think there's a real need for the rest of the world to contemplate every thought that passes through your heads, start a blog, fer chris'sake.

@ david sugarman -- On posting Ad Nauseam
[Read the article: McCain campaign baits Obama on Clinton slurs]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Thanks, David. You're a good example of someone who understands posting etiquette, like not hijacking a thread and/or turning it into a chat room, etc. You limit your posts and I've always found them intelligent and articulate.
And no, I don't actually read any "rufus11" posts anymore. Too many "unique" spellings as you say, too much length and too much chip-on-the-shoulder blah blah blah. Now I just check out the author's name first and buzz right past him. Same with Carol Richards. As for her brilliance" -- I don't think so. More like a smart little chatterbox on steroids. She, too, posts ad nauseam -- so that we dare not miss any tiny little thought that occurs to her moment by moment. I buzz right past her posts now too. The only reason I called these two out (there ARE others, for sure) is because of the obnoxious volume they force feed us daily. Obviously, they've never heard the old maxim, "Less is more."
I look forward to your future posts, David. Cheers.

@ David Sugarman - Stop the Dr. Phil stuff, knucklehead. Please.
[Read the article: McCain campaign baits Obama on Clinton slurs]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]As I said before, David, I scroll past her (Carol's) posts now, so please stop playing Dr. Phil on this one, you knucklehead. I'm really not interested in her copius posts. As I said in my initial retort -- this is NOT a chat room. So I don't wish to engage people that way. This is supposed to be a "Letters to the Editor" section. At least, that's what Salon has labeled it. And so, I consider it a space where I'm privileged to express an opinion that may or may not influence readers. And then I simply move on. I really DO try (as a courtesy to others) to keep my opinion(s) to three posts a day max. Although I've been guilty of breaking that rule from time to time. But NEVER to the obnoxious extent that rufus and carol have. Golly, they're sense of self-importance is astonishing. I wish they'd wake up and realize, "Less is more... Less is more." But I truly doubt it. Unfortunately, I believe they'll continue to flood us with their "wisdom" moment by moment ad nauseam. Cheers.

When Hillary finally loses, it'll be because of all the rampant sexism that was waged against her -- right, Joan?
[Read the article: Some thoughts about West Virginia ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I think Camille Paglia put it best in her article today:
"Sexism will inevitably be the lurid postmortem apologia for why she failed to break the ultimate glass ceiling. Never mind her faults, limitations and dizzy-making multiple personality disorder as a candidate -- or her depressingly unfeminist professional attachment to an alpha male who may be the real reason she won the votes of many working-class white men."
Won't it be wonderful when the Billary psychodrama finally ends?

@ David Sugarman -- "Dr. Phil"
[Read the article: McCain campaign baits Obama on Clinton slurs]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Hey, David, I meant it lightheartedly. Didn't mean to knock the wind out of you. We all have a little Dr. Phil in us from time to time. Sorry it didn't come across that way.

Hey, isn't West Virginia where the Real McCoys came from?
[Read the article: Some thoughts about West Virginia ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]By golly, it is. And here are the lyrics:
Want you to meet the family that's known as The Real McCoys.
From West Virginee they came to stay in sunny Californi-ay.
That's Grand Pappy Amos and the girls and the boys of the family known as the Real McCoys.
Livin' like good folks should live, as happy as kids with toys.
Ol Grand Pappy Amos is head of the clan, he roars like a lion, but he's gentle as a lamb.
His grandson Luke keeps beaming with joy, since he made miss Kate Missus Luke McCoy.
What a house keeper Kate is, she's doin' what she enjoys.
No gal can beat her when it comes to looks, the same can be said about the way she cooks.
For Grand Pappy Amos and the girls and boys of the family known as the Real McCoys.
Sharing each others sorrows, enjoyin' each others joys.
Like all other families they quarrel and fuss, but it ain't never serious,
With Grand Pappy Amos and the girls and boys of the family known as the Real McCoys.

@ doloresflower - I'm afraid
[Read the article: Mississippi turning]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]As an Independent and possibly someone with a bit more perpective...
I'm afraid that if people look at all the issues you write about so thoughtfully in your post -- all the issues that are tangling up the Democratic Party -- they're going to say, "Jeeze, these guys can't even manage themselves -- how're they ever going to manage the country?"
So much of this chaos, I think, is the result of the damage left in the wake of Hillary's "kitchen sink" campaign strategy. How can anybody actually say her fight was good for the party? It's going to take months for Democrats to heal -- and that's ONLY if she gets out now. The truth is, healing may not even be possible by November.
