As Nathan Jr points out..."plugging your media appearances is boring and gross." And he's right. Joan always seems to do that. Right in the middle of our letters too. So off-topic.
I guess that's what happens when a left wing hack like Joan has no bigger claim to fame than "debating" a right wing hack like Pat Buchanan on some obsure cable channel.
Perhaps being a true journalist is why Byron York (who wrote the quinessential piece on the Limbaugh affair at realclearpolitics.com/ yesterday) is a frequent guest on Tim Russert's "Meet the Press" and Joan will never be. Incidentally, York's article can now be found in the "Most Read" section on the Real Clear Politics home page. For anyone who wants to discover how refreshing fact-based, forthright reporting can be.
Shove it? Piss off? Hmmm... what inspired commentary for such a miniature brain. You're almost as vacuous as Joan Walsh herself.
I think I hear your mother calling. It seems you forgot to make your bed again. Have a nice day.
"Explain the missing 1min and 35 sec cut from the Limbaugh transcript. The truth hurts, but it is right there in black and white. You say you only search for the truth, then why do you seek it only in places that distorts and ignores it so many ways?"
The truth hurts? No, the truth will set you free. So here's the truth from the Byron York article posted yesterday at Real Clear Politics, which you obviously didn't take the time to read:
"The next day, September 28, Limbaugh used his program to explain the “phony soldiers” remark at some length. As part of that explanation, he played a tape of the original September 26 program. He cut some extraneous material out — “for space and relevance reasons, not to hide anything,” — and then found himself again under attack from Media Matters for “selectively edit[ing]” the clip. Media Matters did not claim that Limbaugh had cut anything substantive out — he did not — and in fact his cuts were similar to the cuts Media Matters itself made when it published an edited version of the transcript of Limbaugh’s original broadcast."
Note the importance of the last sentence. Because Joan Walsh and Media Matters will never bother mentioning that. But whatever they print, it's right there in black and white, so it MUST be true, right?
Unlike Joan Walsh, Byron York is a respected journalist and frequent guest on Tim Russert's "Meet the Press" -- a place you'll never see the likes of Joan Walsh. So, yes, I seek the truth -- in the right places. Not here.
You want so desperately to be right, but you're wrong. Ihe truth just doesn't fit your template. Either that or your reading comprehehension skills leave much to be desired.
Like I said -- your reading comprehension skills leave much to be desired. Try it one more time, if you've tried it at all. Go to realclearpolitics.com/ and search for the article Byron York wrote yesterday entitled, "Rush Limbaugh makes his case." It will answer each one of the points you keep trying to make. But you have to try to keep an open mind, if that's possible. I'm afraid I find you too exasperating to continue any further.
MY reality is based on a respected journalist -- Byron York -- who I'm sure you never heard of till today.
YOUR reality is based on an axe-grinding hack -- Joan Walsh -- who seems too fit your view of the world like a glove.
And did you actually say:
"I'm shocked that with the truth as I have served it to you, that you didn't open your eyes and acknowledge your completely misguided concept of reality."
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha,ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha,ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha,ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha... damn that's funny.
You just made my day, Jimbo. Have a nice day.
"The radio show also captures Giuliani's political evolution -- from a relative centrist who opposed the National Rifle Association's crusade on behalf of assault weapons, who supported Mario Cuomo over George Pataki in 1994 and praised Hillary Clinton's healthcare reform efforts, to a guy who suddenly tried to cast himself as a Ronald Reagan Republican..."
There's nothing wrong with evolving politically. If you'll recall, the Hildabeast started out as a Goldwater Republican. Don't underestimate Rudy. Polls say he'd beat Hillary. His bigger problem is winning the Republican nomination.
Why would anyone listen to a man who was arguably the worst president of the 20th Century? When Carter took office in 1977, he inherited a moderately growing economy. Inflation was 5.4 percent and interest rates were around 8 percent. When he left office, the Soviets were entrenched in Afghanistan, Iranian students had been holding US hostages for 444 days, the American military and the CIA had been gutted by his post-Vietnam cutbacks, American prestige was in the toilet, inflation was in the double digits and interest rates were so high Americans couldn't finance homes or automobiles. As a result, the media invented something they called "The Misery Index" -- which was a number they arived at by adding the unemployment rate to the inflation rate. Carter's administration was without a doubt the worst of the 20th Century, although Carter remained so clueless that he actually blamed his failures on a "national malaise". I guess this was the same "malaise" that kept the Democratic party out of power for 12 years.
PS: His approval rating in 1979 was 28 percent.
Good times!
