Reading the letters section of salon as of late reminds me of the scene in The Life of Brian where the to different rebel factions (the peoples front of judea and the judean peoples front? I'm not sure) both attempt to kidnap the emperor's wife.
The two groups run into each other in the corridor outside her room and proceed to argue over who thought of the plan first. They proceed to kill each other in the ensuing argument. Classic Monty Python.
The republicans are laughing somewhere at how easily the democrats fell into the "divide and conquer" trap they set with the help of the MSM.
Neithier Obama or Clinton are progressives. They have virtually the same platforms. Clinton, McCain, and Obama all have stated they plan on increasing the defense budget. None of the three have a "real" exit strategy for Iraq, just a watered down version of the current occupation.
Of course McCain's batshit crazy, and so's anyone who would vote for him.

The Dalai Lama does not appear to be contradicting himself, so I don't understand why this is his "moment of truth". China seems to be suffering a "moment of truth."
The lack of research concerning the subject of the title (The Dalai Lama) is on the level of the MSM. I've only read one book about the man myself, but I at least know that he and his followers do not consider him a "god-king".
The teachings of The Buddha were not religious teaching.
"BELIEVE NOTHING, NO MATTER WHERE YOU READ IT OR WHO HAS SAID IT, NOT EVEN IF I HAVE SAID IT, UNLESS IT AGREES WITH YOUR OWN REASON AND YOUR OWN COMMON SENSE"- The Buddha
I think that's a serious question. A Nobel prize winner, won the popular vote in 2000, former vice president- he's probably electable.
Whatever the reason(s) that Gore is choosing not to run, IMO asking this question may lead to more insightful revevlations than questioning why Ralph Nader is choosing to run.

A vote for Nader was not a vote for Bush, it was not a vote for Gore. Therefore if you voted for Nader in a state that Gore won (I believe California could be used as an example) your vote for Nader didn't effect the outcome of the contest.
Gore won the popular vote in the 2000 elections. The Supreme Court, Jeb Bush, and some other shady individuals put George Bush into office.
Am I biased regarding Nader?- Yes.
Is it a damn shame that the democratic party would rather hand control over to the republican party instead of allowing the populace a third choice?- Well you tell me.
