This is nothing new

AT&T, a few years ago, started an employee PAC. You weren't told you "had" to contribute, just that "enrollment lists would be reviewed." The company even made "suggestions" as to how much you should contribute based upon your management level. How did AT&T buy all those congresscritters and get immunity for their law-breaking?

You will see this is my first post under this screen name. I have used a different one at Salon for a couple of years now but it was too descriptive of my real name. I felt I could never mention anything about AT&T because employees were warned that AT&T will fire you if you are found to be writing anything on public blogs/message boards that describes AT&T in anything less than glowing terms.

By the way Alex, I still think you're a hack. :)

Are you threatening me Alex?

It ain't sweet and it sure isn't funny. Do your editors know that you are threatening paid subscribers and commenters?

Who Chooses the Questions?

Even if the questions come from the audience and the internet - who chooses which questions get to be asked? If someone wants to bring the up the flag pin crap, does that mean it will be asked? Who chooses the questions?

@shooter

Hypocrisy? Are you that dense? Dems have been put under the microscope ad nauseum. McSame has not. That is Glenn's point. Why, in 2004, was it so terrible that Kerry had married money but now, in 2008, McSame gets a free ride when he did the very same thing. But what am I thinking? The POW meme is a magic shield! Whenever any criticism of McSame is even hinted at, the Repuke knee-jerk reaction is the same, "but, but, but . . . he's a POW!"

Now, do I think marrying money is bad thing that should preclude someone from running for President? Of course not. However, if the Repukes are going to slime the Dems for it, then when one of their own does the same thing, they have to expect that their words will come back to bite them.

Of course, shooter will never address why it was so bad that Kerry married money but it is OK that McSame did also. He'll just burble along in his little self-hating bubble and continue to supply us with questionable amusement.

@Kufir OK - I'll Play

Since everybody is wound up on another topic. How did the marchers "go psycho" on the Faux news reporter? By refusing to speak with him and chanting "Fuck Fox News?" Was he hurt? Pushed around in any way? He did, after all, place himself directly in the path of the marchers. Despite the breathless apprehension of the talking head in the studio, I didn't see anything happen to him. So, what's your point?

@lcantet

Salon is not deserving of your praise and Alex most certainly isn't. When Dennis Kucinich brought forward the 35 articles of impeachment against this criminal administration, Alex was first on the bandwagon to term this courageous act "not newsworthy." Alex also stated his opinion that Dennis Kucinich was a joke, or foolish, or weird. The exact term he used escapes me at this moment but it was derogatory at best.

When wondering why Dennis Kucinich did not get the attention he deserved during the primaries, you need look no further than this "liberal" blog, salon.com. The citizens of this country not only get the government they deserve, they get the media they deserve.

I hope that first sentence was written with your tongue firmly planted in your cheek.

Original article: Who is Sarah Palin?

Investigation

Sarah Palin is under investigation for misuse of power. Andrea Mitchell thinks there are extenuating circumstances because it was in defense of her sister. What crap! If the investigation does show that Palin misused her power it reveals a stunning lack of judgement and that is something we have had ENOUGH of the past 8 years. Did she think her sister's husband was abusing her? Why didn't she report him to the police and have him arrested? No - she tries to have him fired? Bad judgement.

Joe Biden will eat her alive and he'll do it with a smile and charm.

You idiot - the point is she made a choice to bear that child. She wants to deny other woman the right to make their own choice. Moron . ..

David Sheldon

It is patronizing because mcsame believes all he needs to do to get women to vote for him is to put a woman on the ticket. And what a woman! Of all the experienced rethug women he could have picked, i.e. Hutchinson, Snowe, Whitman, Dole, etc. he chooses a young woman with very little experience, that no one has ever heard of, who is already being investigated by her own state legislature for misuse of power, and will do exactly what she is told (which is all mcsame thinks women are good for anyway - witness his own treatment of his first wife and his current wife). THAT is why it is patronizing. The sad thing is that for some women - that will be enough.

And now the media who treated Clinton like shit (mind I don't say Obama because he never did - the media did but some like to think Obama should be able to control the media) are falling all over themselves to tout this nobody from Alaska. Liberal media, my ass.
