Testosterone and estrogen hormones change the anatomical and physiological characteristics of the body. Surgery also changes the characteristics.

So, technically, a trans person who uses hormones and or has surgery or is contemplating and desires such actions is classically defined as

transsexual, as defined by Dr. Harry Benjamin in his 1970 landmark book, The Transsexual Phenomenon.

Gender= Sociopsychological construct of the continuum of masculinity - femininity or any degree in between. Transgender may refer to a trans person who identifies somewhere on the continuum that may be different than their biological sex. Transgender persons may also

be considered transsexual if they are using hormones and or have had surgery or are contemplating and desiring such. Transsexual persons may also refer to themselves as transgender if they wish.

The term transgender has become a more encompassing and acceptable term, as the sex in transssexual is not as well accepted.

Thomas is thus classically defined as a transsexual man as he has been using testosterone and may have had surgery.

The medical, legal, and governmental establishments regard Thomas as male.

Anyone who refuses to accept Thomas as a man is

akin to the racists who refuse to accept an adult person of African ancestry as a man or woman, but refers to them as "boy" or "girl", regardless of their adult age.

There is a report that Thomas gave birth to a baby girl, naturally, on June 29th.

Thomas said that he is the father and his wife Nancy is the mother.
