He says the press collectively moans and goes on to say it's because of guilt and that the Clintons have outfoxed them.
No.
They groan over the ongoing 'it's all about me' Bill Clinton, just like many democrats. They are also groaning because after almost 20 years of the Clintons, you pretty much can write the stories in your sleep. Does anyone honestly believe Bill has mended his ways. Honestly? So, a bored Bill in the White House will be even more anxious to get out with some little lovely to past his time. You can almost predict it like you can that the clock will strike 12.
The nostalgia addicts are the only ones who are excited over more of the Clintons. And the republicans, who are just itching for a go at them again. 20 years of oppo research ready to be used and thrown to the public. How do you honestly think that will go? The shady deals, the women, the dirty tricks, ect. All waiting to be given the light of day in the general election.
For those who deride those who support Obama, you may wish you were more mature. If the clintons get their nomination they will need those Obama supporters. The riff the Clintons have cause will not be repaired and many Obama supporters will not feel too inclined to help when the Clintons are down in polls because indies won't support them and they cannot get the crossovers. Or when another Clinton scandal erupts - as it is surely to do before November.
Why dwell on Obama's race to the point of obsessive as the media has done to death during the SC primary?
They have even decided it's all about race now. And they bring the latinos in to add to it all.
I see this primary more as generational. Past vs future.
But, it's not as sexy to talk about on the cable news as race.
I do think he is emphasizing his Kansas white roots for a different reason. The same as why he makes a show of religion.
Because of the smear attacks of him being a muslim manchurian candidate.
He comes out more about his mother and grandparents because the emails have lost him votes and will be a swiftboat line of attack in the general if he's the nominee. Neutralize it now. So, play up his white background with Kansas roots.
But, in the end, Obama is a man.
Joan, your apologist stance for Hillary was always apparent but, since hanging around that clown and HRC water carrier, Abrams on MSNBC, you have grown tiresome in your excusing the Clintons for everything.
The media is not to blame. I know Abrams has his nightly rants about how everyone is sooooooooo mean to the Clintons but, honestly, it sound silly and whiney.
The Clintons have been around for 20 years. How much is there to talk about or write about. We know everything there is and more than we want to know about this dysfunctional duo.
Obama has not been around forever like the Clintons so there is more to talk about and learn about.
Use some common sense.
As a democratic woman I am amused by the psuedo feminists who suddenly think Hillary is a paragon of Liberated Female Ideas.
The woman has little concrete experience she can show to us. She repeats over and over about her vast 35 year experience in public service and the gullible swallow it hook, line and sinker.
Hillary worked for one year in a lower position at the Children's Defense and spent most of her career as a corporate atty. and wife of a politician. Her 7 years as a senator is hardly vast experience when you factor in the 8 years of experience that Obama has in the state senate on top of his US senate position now.
But, the koolaid drinkers loyally swallow the fiction that Hillary peddles. Does anyone honestly believe she would be a serious candidate for president if not for her husband and riding his name to her current job as a senator?
Let's factor in the way she has mismanaged over a 100 million to the point of being broke and her campaign has made so many serious missteps.
That is hardly a poster for woman power.
I am far from a fan of the clintons. However, this is a very classy and poignant article.
If fate ends the democratic primary you left the lady some dignity.
Hopefully when all is said and done and Hillary has a chance to sit back and think about her campaign she will see where it went wrong. Not the media. Not, as her supporters want to believe, women haters, and not the candidate herself in campaigning.
But, she made a fatal mistake. She refused to recognize that you do not put your pollster in the role of chief strategist. You put in a pro. Loyalty is great in friendships but, not for being the head of the most important run of your life.
