In 04 Obama was beating Ryan badly and was getting tons of buzz by people as this amazing man.

Ryan dropped out around the time of the democratic convention and we all know what happened there.

No republican would run. they tried to draft Ditka and he said no way.

the only person they could get was Keyes.

Between Obama and the fact that the republican party here was in the same shape as they are now nationally, the summer was mostly A cakewalk for Obama.

The people were very excited about him and they are still excited about him. He is very much liked and respected here.

I'd say half and half.

Some are overwrought hard core Hillary supporters. Afterall their site, Hillaryis44 is still active.

and they are not that large of a group left.

Some are freepers looking for mischief.

But, the most rotten rumors and attacks are not by the rightwing. they have come from those claiming to be fellow democrats. The ever sleazy No Quarter and Hillaryis44 were peddling in things that would have made both the rightwing's 527s and white supremacists proud.

And the comments on articles about Michelle being posted by so called feminists and democratic women makes you wonder if they are wearing white sheets when they are online.

I have literally read the worse and most most vitriolic crap coming from women professing to be democrats.

Many of these same women cried foul and screaming bloody murder over any imagined look, word or sound they, and only they, saw as daring to criticize Hillary. They accused everyone and to this day pound their fists and demand the world stop and listen to their endless complaints over imagined slights.

But, at the same time, a democratic woman is treated to far worse hate and accusations and smears then anything the Clintons ever dealt with and it's by those same women.

The diary I just read on Daily Kos explains the issue and what is the reality in this FISA bill. And the Patriot Act.

The diary says that Obama, being a constitutional law professor probably saw some things in this and knew this was not the thing to fall on his sword over.

It explains why.

the diarist is a former Appellate Atty - Criminal Defense. Most of his cases involved constitutional issues and it is well worth reading and doing some thinking about.

I am guessing that Obama is looking to pick and chose his fights and this is not one that he feels will do much to help in the end. He'd rather his fights get at the core of the problems to begin with.

You guys act like Hillary was owed the presidency and you as well. And that no one had the right to dare to challenge her and beat her. Guess what, it happens all the time in politics. Get over it.

I am so tired of all this crap about Hillary's supporters delicate feeelings. If they can't (as their beloved Hillary once put it) stand the heat then get out. Politics is not for the faint hearted and is rough. And politics is not about you and your feelings.

These people need to find some group therapy thing so they can endlessly discuss their feelings and how it's so hard to be a victim, er, a woman.

I'm a woman and I many times feel like telling them to suck it up and quit wallowing.

the behavior of these women is going to have the unfortunate effect of keeping other women from rising higer in the ranks because people do not want to go through the same crap as they have with these women this time.

Nice going. Keep whining and wailing and see how much you have hurt other women because of it.

I have to admire Edwards former supporters. If Hillary's supporters acted with half the class as you guys have so many of Obama supporters would not be so angry.

We really don't want to fight but, we daily get screamed at by Hillary's supporters who want everyone to give them attention and treat them like victims.

You guys were just as passionate about Edwards. But, you handled things with so much class and so, many of us would cheer Edwards on when things went well and sympathize when they did not with your candidate.

And alot of us felt bad when Edwards left the campaign.

That is how you earn people's respect and their support. Not with the way clinton's supporters have behaved. it simply angers and drives people away.

Joan, your love of all things Clinton and your ongoing slavishness to the clintons is getting embarrassing.

The clinton era is over.

The reason I wish the media would stop with whether or not Bill will endorse is because I don't care. The clintons do not have coattails and frankly, Obama doesn't need them. Bill is a lose cannon.

The reason for Mitchell's complaining is because, like Joan, she is obsessed with the Clintons and is personally hurt he is not being presidential.

If Joan actually listened to Mitchell she would hear her constant whining about how Obama is not being gracious enough or doing enough for poor Hillary.

Thinking about it, I think both Joan and Mitchell are pathetic.

It will never happen. Vetting Bill alone would end that to begin with. His dubious business dealings won't pass muster.

And that is just the beginning of why any ticket with Hillary on it is only in the media's fantasies.

They really need to get past this ridiculous idea.

And to keep pushing it only keeps up the hopes of Clintons supporters who will end up disappointed and more disaffected.

Please stop doing this.
