And the Stalinists strike again
[Read the article: Movies that mattered]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I had earlier wrote a letter about this article, criticizing Zacharek's obvious lack of taste and cinema sense, but THE EDITORS REMOVED IT. I would have expected this from Foxnews or The NRO, but Salon? It's incredibly disappointing. Perhaps they didn't like my hypothesis that the only reason Zacharek has a job is because she is Joan Walsh's cousin, because her top ten list shows that as a reviewer of movies she has no merit. "No Country" and "There Will Be Blood" are easily the two best films of the year, but Zacharek only mentioned one, and mentioned it to say that she wasn't including it in her list. Well done, both to you and the editors, I applaud you for your poor taste, and them for their censorship. I see Walsh all over the TV talking about how much of a liberal she is and how much she loves freedom, but then they pull letters they don't agree with off their website. A bit contradictory, as I'm sure Chris Matthews will agree. And Zacharek, give up, seriously. Because a lot of people have given up on you after you list such weak films as your favorites.
