Fear not, some of us will do it for you...as usual.
-- bestdionysus
Who is "us"? And what, exactly, are you personally doing for me?
No, I didn't watch your video. Perhaps people in the Middle East should watch some video of one of our grad students executing other students while they sit in class. Or they could watch some videos of what a bomb with "USA" written on the side does when it hits innocent Iraqi civilians.
We can "prove" that Middle Easterners are barbaric with videos. What can they "prove" about us?
I've said it before and this just confirms the general idea, that Republicans will push the boundaries to pursue a principle, while Democrats will push the boundaries to pursue personal enrichment. Oh yeah, I can feel that corruption coming on.

You're sitting in the middle of huge broken sewer, it's 99 degrees and 100% humidity, and there's a big ole pile o'poo running down your face, and you're saying that there might be a cowpat across the street.
Whatever.
A drama queen. No more, no less. And a disgusting one at that.
-- William Timberman
I would have said a racist f*ckwad, but disgusting drama queen is OK, too.
Shakers and Quakers are not the same thing and never have been. They do have similarities -- both Protestant sects that arose in England around the same time and came to America, and both believe in the immediate experience of God. And, yes, I can see both of them as somewhat analogous to the Sufis.
The Shakers are the ones who made the furniture. :)
Quakers -- or "Friends" -- are the ones who settled in Pennsylvania and got quite rich. The fellow on the side of Quaker Oats box is supposed to be an oldtime Pennsylvania Quaker, but the company has no ties with the religious organization and there is some resentment by Friends about that image. Quakers are still very active through the American Friends Service Committee in putting their peaceful money where their peaceful mouths are.
You don't KNOW what they did, how they did it, and whether or not it was really illegal or not. So why complain?
Besides, Sandy Berger....
Just filling in for Shooter here.
He MUST be brought to justice. If we find out exactly where he is in Pakistan & their government refuses to do anything about it, then we're going to get his ass. That is what Sen. Obama said & I think the vast majority of Americans agree with him.Bottom line: I WANT OSAMA BIN LADEN'S HEAD ON A PIKE.
-- Paul in KY
Paul, then I assume you would have no problem with Raul Castro coming into the US and bombing Miami, in order to get the convicted terrorist who blew up a Cuban airliner and killed 73 people.
http://www.commondreams.org/archive/2007/04/23/702/
I also assume you would have no problem with Iraqis coming here to "take out" the Americans who ordered the killing of tens of thousands of their compatriots in our unjustified war against Iraq?
There is a reason the old religionists held revenge to be God's domain and not man's.
And while I support Obama, mostly because he seems less likely than any of the other candidates to blow stuff up and torture people, I was very disappointed with his remarks on Pakistan. See Ondelette's recent posts.
BTW -- the "anti-semitic" crap is probably David Sugarman.
The Bush administration is worried that the new government may not keep the deal. Apparently, the margin of the victory by the opposition surprised the Bush Administration, even though senior State Department officials had been warning that backing Musharraf so unqualifiedly was a bad idea.
Yeah, no one could have expected that outcome.
No one could have predicted that Hamas would win, either.
No one could have predicted that the levees would breach.
No one could have expected an airliner to be used as a weapon.
These people are such morons. How have they not been thrown out on their ears for total bumbling incompetence, not to mention mendacity and all the other poison fruits they offer?
You'd think even Shooter would have realized what a clusterf*ck these guys are, at this point. But I guess, not until Limbaugh and Hannity say so.
Even the libertarians in the crowd are going for Obama. Geez. How clueless are the 19%?
(I'm not implying cluelessness for the libertarians, btw. Just how strong the running away from Bushco is.)
Via a link on Antiwar.com, apparently some telecoms got scared and are refusing to spy on us without a warrant.

I've always liked him, but now that he's used "dunderhead" in a sentence about McCain I am speechless with admiration.
Instead of demonizing Nader, democrats should honestly listen to what he has to say, and adopt what seems good of that to their own platform, and their own campaigns. It wouldn't hurt Obama or Clinton one bit to echo many of the statements that Nader made today on MTP.
-- casual_observe
Nader does have lots of good things to say. In 2000, I was one of those libertarians who saw "no difference" between Gore and Bush and liked Nader. I have learned my lesson. Unfortunately, hundreds of thousands of others have died while I was learning my lesson.
Whoever the Dem candidate is this year -- and I hope it's Obama, but Hillary will do -- I will work my butt off for them, because lives are at stake and our constitutional order, what's left of it. If Nader takes away enough votes to let McCain win, then I will say, damn him to hell. If he is self absorbed and so "pure" that he sees no difference between the two parties at this point...well, that makes me angry.
