Original article: Divorce on the D-list

me too!

I had begun to think I was the only one who cared. Maybe it was because I had a major crush on Matt myself... I feel much better knowing I'm not alone in wondering, "What the hell happened?"

99 cents too much

Jesus. If we're not willing to compensate the schlockmeister du jour and their team of songwriters 99 cents for their current hit crap pop song... if that's too much, what is the reasonable amount? 5 cents? At what point does the whole thing become ridiculous?

Farhad has issues

What's with all the weird censorship-type stuff of late?

Original article: And the Buffy goes to ...

Seriously?

What's the point in lauding a show for an award like this on its way out? The game is over, it serves no purpose.

But have you seen The Middleman? There's a show that's maybe on the verge of being canceled after one season. It needs the support more than this.

edited?

By edited, do you mean... "We cut out the part about Android out entirely?

I'd love to see what he has to say about the divorce with Palm considering the imminent release of the Pre.

this sums up Apple smugness

I could have had a Windows laptop with a larger screen and more features for hundreds less than I paid for the MacBook, but I would have got what I paid for: a generic PC. The MacBook isn’t perfect. I remain convinced that dropping FireWire was a serious mistake, and there aren’t enough USB ports, but aside from those points, I have no serious complaints.

Yeah, but it wouldn't have been quite as coooool, no?

My Dell? It's red. It's got a 17" screen and a processor that spanks most Mac laptops. And I paid about $1300 for it - entry level in the Mac world. It runs Vista and I've had very few problems with it.

The only big problem I've had? Dell ships out some of its boxen with some horrible antivirus software. Some models, getting it without is an option. Not this one. You know what I did? I uninstalled it. It wasn't hard, and nothing crashed.

The only malware I've had in the last 5 years came in through a hole in Firefox 3.0.9 when I was too lazy to update. I use Chrome on that site now.

Mac users and those insufferably smug ads want you to think a PC is hard to use - it's not. They act like updating the OS is difficult and an aberration - what, there are never any security holes in Mac OS? Riiiight.

So many Mac owners are just victims of clever marketing and a sort of reverse FUD. Macs are so easy! I've been using computers for 25 years. ALL COMPUTERS ARE EASY NOW. But if you get that cheaper computer, it'll confuse the hell of out you!

Not so much.

yes, but...

The Pre actually RUNS multiple programs at the same time.

ugh

What an Apple sycophant you are. "They should block the Palm Pre!" "They could use the APIs from 5 years ago!"

ebooking ahoy!

Check your App Catalog under "Most Recent" = Shortcovers showed up today.

One quirk I had: Not all my Facebook contacts pulled down pictures. Can't force it to do so, not sure what the logic behind the failure is, those people do have pics.

Also, there was the fun of pairing up contacts between just AIMnames and actual people I had contacts for from Facebook.

not an issue

Between sideloading and Classic, this is not an issue. But I guess you needed another article for the site.

it's about the memory usage, stupid

I was going to ask the exact same question as the first person - is the memory usage fixed? Firefox is horridly wasteful with RAM, which is not behavior to be encouraged. 3 took a shit all over the legacy of 2 and made me wish I hadn't upgraded.

I'd switch to Chrome, but some sites are still a little iffy with it. Keep considering it, though.

3 weeks in and my hardware is AOK. I think we're just hearing from the vocal few.

They're on their deathbed because of FiOS penetration in Texas.

@omarnyc

No thanks, I like running software.

Save you some time and a couple paragraphs.

Whole article: "Yes".

You have to feel bad for all the Symbian fans and the Blackberry owners and where they're going to be in 2 years. Most people don't even remember WinMO exists most of the time (myself included).
