  • Projected Feelings

Can you imagine the freedom and purpose Tatiana must have felt when, for the first time in her life, she was able to do what an alpha predator is wired for? All of her senses engaged. The leap, attack, the stalking in the growing darkness of her intended prey--and she appeared very intent on pursuit of specific individuals, after all she had never roamed these grounds before. And then the final attack.

It is truly unfortunate that she had to give her life.

I apologize for not feeling as much remorse for the humans involved. All of us.

It appears that "Taxi to the Dark Side" has just been acquired by HBO and will be aired in September.

I had the dubious pleasure(?) of briefly catching some guy I didn't recognize--who turned out to be Fred Kagan, and then Richard Perle. I could not watch/listen for long, I felt like I needed to puke. These guys, on the fifth anniversary of the war, continue to justify and talk up how right the decision was to wage this war, etc, etc. Their smugness and apparent lack of much awareness of reality is truly something to behold. And yet they are still given airtime to continue to spew their ca ca.

On another note: my sincere thanks to Glenn and all of you eloquent, brilliant letter writers and poets who have informed me and kept me focused on what is important.

  • While watching John McCain and his wife Cindy,

mounting the stairs to give his victory speech after one of his last primary wins, I wasn't sure exactly who was supporting who. He seemed a bit wobbly and it could be that it was just very late and waaaay past his bedtime or maybe he is just getting too achey-is that a word?- for stairs sometimes, or maybe that celebration toast went right to his head. Whatever. At this time of his life he should really be looking into retirement and the peace and serenity of his "cabin" in Sedona.

  • Oh "caustic" author

I ordered two of your books yesterday, one to donate to the public library that is housed in one of the local high schools here in Colorado. I'm thinking of ordering another to donate to the other public library in my local community. It's good to hear that librarians should find that your book will be an appealing addition to their shelves. I agree.

  • So cestmoi,

who's next on the list for places to "make better" for the world?

"For the world", eh? How about for American and multi-national corporations?

Where has our military gone and betterized(!) anyplace by showing them the proper way to worship, love and live?

    What a bunch of hooey.

No doubt there were many, and now many, many, many more throughout the world, who think the world would be a better place if they could just "remove/kill" those in our country who make it a worse place for them.

So at what point does it ever end?

  • Do you recall the uproar

over Ward Churchill, former professor at the University of Colorado, and his essay about Sept. 11, "On the Justice of Roosting Chickens"? He said in that essay that the US bears much of the responsibility for the attacks because of our policies throughout the world. The hysteria these views engendered from the right were everywhere, even my 90 year old uncle in southern California vilified Churchill and called for his head. Churchill's writings and record were dissected until they found enough dirt and dubious dealings to justify his firing.

Here's hoping that John Yoo will come under similar scrutiny.

on one of the morning periodic news updates that is provided by CBS to my local progressive station, a brief comment provided by Mike Allen, no less, from The Politico.com. He was remarking about the latest "Reverend Eruption" and how this could hurt Obama and give the Republicans more ammunition in the upcoming campaign season.

Call me silly but how is this opinion "news"? For that matter why is this latest Reverend/Priest, news? How is it that The Politico gets a prominent showcase on a national "news" feed to define the latest nonsense as so very important?

  • So, does this mean that a President Obama

could declare GWB, Cheney, and company as enemy combatants and jail them indefinitely?

Apologies to anyone who has previously asked this question, as I am very tardy to this subject and the comments.
