I thought it was too obvious an answer, but no one else seems to be focusing on it. I've always thought that the appeal, and certainly the appeal to me personally, lay in the fact that the vampire was immortal and had eternal youth.
Besides the obvious appeal immortality might hold for the reader, it also provides an extreme version of the perfect romantic relationship. Vampire love lasts forever. It's not that this isn't true in other romantic tales, but it's even more powerfully true in vampire tales. Think back to your Anne Rice, the bonds of vampiredom are erotic and do not end, no matter how many years pass.
This comic isn't about people who have well-informed and thoughtful problems with the issue at hand, it's about people who deliberately refuse to honestly address the debate. http://www.rhrealitycheck.org/blog/2009/06/02/the-prolife-movements-hot-rhetoric-and-allout-lies
There should be some way to raise enough money to keep that clinic in business. Someone on our side should be trying to raise the money and getting some good doctors in there. I have no idea how to go about doing that, but there's got to be enough support out there to make it happen.
I can understand that you all think it's tacky that she threw a big party, but I think you miss the fact that abortion is a rather emotional choice and women need support. I think it's brave of this woman to be open and honest and ask her friends to be there for her, not just financially, but also physically. Who are we to say what one person needs and why is it our place to mock her for still wanting to enjoy her life even if she is having an abortion? What if it was to pay for chemo or plastic surgery, is it the same level of tacky?

Apparently they're all for boobs as long as they're cancerous and not being used for nourishing children.
Or it's just prohibitively difficult to actually become an abortion provider. You have to go through med school, go through an ob/gyn specialty, and specifically seek out training with one of the few doctors that provides abortions. Many med schools don't even teach abortions. Basically, if you want to provide abortions, you have to fight 8 years of people trying to get you to do something else.
I'd become an abortion provider if there was a school for becoming an abortionist, regardless of the danger inherent in the field. But I don't have the resources to go through that much school and fighting for only a chance at pursuing that as a career.
And, it's a fairly basic procedure, the sort of thing that wouldn't necessarily require that much training. I see no reason why a RN couldn't be trained to give abortions, especially in the first trimester. Frankly, it's the sort of thing every doctor should be able to do.
There should be some sort of network on the campus for you. I know most universities offer a certain number of free sessions for students and their families. Look into this. And ask for help from those near you. You'd be amazed that others have gone through similar experiences and might have resources close to home.
Good luck.
I would like to know what the percentages of those races are, I feel like there are a whole lot more white people on OKC than other races just to start with.
When I was on there I got a lot more messages from white men than from any other group. And the maybe 4 black men who wrote me used terrible grammar and slang, and 2 were in relationships and looking for threesomes. I never got an email from anyone Asian or Pacific Islander. Plenty from Hispanics, a lot of whom I matched quite well with.
Anyway, I think that while the trends are interesting, there are probably a lot of contributing factors as to why it looks that way.
I think someone should transcribe all of this and make it a book of stories.
Kids are so evil. And observant. And honest.
Sam is my favorite. He's so happy. And Stegosauruses are the best.
To be fair, that jacket is squeezing them together. Is there a photo comparison, because it might not actually be that huge a change.
