Original article: Praying for Obama's death

Thanks, Lucy with Diamonds

"They repay evil for good, and hatred for my love." (Psalm 109). If you stood a mirror in front of these people, they wouldn't see themselves. Praying to the Lord, indeed! They're asking for the intercession of Satan. Anyone who listens to this tripe is praying for his/her own damnation.

What the.....why is Salon just assuming the new governor will be a Repug?

The choice between Perry and Hutchison is like choosing between execution by lethal injection or electrocution. Get a clue, Texans, before it's too late. I was born and raised there, and I love Texas, but what "Shrub" did to Texas he went on to do to the whole country. Why can't Texas voters see that? This column is the first I can remember where the Democratic candidate for governor has been mentioned by name. Kinky Friedman (bless his heart) was never a serious candidate. I pray that Texas dems will wake up and smell the coffee, get out and mobilize. Just look what the Republicans have done to Texas. Lord, I miss Molly Ivins, too.

I Don't Feel Sorry for Him, Joan

I watched while he and others like him continually attacked Bill Clinton during his entire term of office. He got what he deserved; now he can join his spawn, Beck, in a big pity party. This guy is one of the most disgusting creatures on the face of the earth. One can only hope that his Type A personality will lead to implosion.

Here's Something to Back Up Your Assertion, Joan, from REUTERS

The NBI polls 50 countries each year to determine which are the most admirable. From seventh place in 2008, the US rose to first place in 2009, and Simon Anholt, who conducts the study annually believes the credit, despite the wars and the economic downturn, belongs to President Obama.

I Find Rep. Grayson to Be Refreshingly To the Point

He appears to be doing his job, which is to adhere to the principles of the Constitution, and he was not kind in his delivery. In light of the Republicon mockery of the Boston Tea Party that went on this summer, their slander and libel against the President, their hatemongering, their obstructionism, who could blame Rep. Grayson for stating the truth in graphic terms. Here's a big virtual hug for you, Rep. Grayson...you deserve it.

Michelle Obama Was Absolutely Correct

Women and children are disproportionately affected by our current medical insurance gaps. If it weren't for SCHIP and similar programs for children, they wouldn't be covered either. There was a time when insurance could be had at a reasonable cost because of group rates, but the insurance industry has whittled away at benefits while increasing premiums and out-of-pocket costs and increased their profit margins by dumping patients when they begin to reduce the bottom line.

To you who are trying to disparage the First Lady, get a clue. Hospitals only have so many resources. Hospitals, however, do sponsor satellite clinics for non-emergency patients, who charge a minimum or nothing at all if you can't afford to pay. Clinics can handle a large patient load and relieve the burden from the ER. Critical patients need immediate care. Every available option should be explored to improve the outcomes in the ER, and that includes redirecting non-emergency patients whenever possible.

Footnote: You make me sick.

Curiouser and Curiouser...

How the right-wing lunatics lie to protect their lies. Curious obviously has a flawed memory. The "meltdown" occurred during the final months of the George W. Bush administration...I believe it was October, 2008. We'll just refer to it as "Bush's October Surprise". Obama did not "claw his way" to the presidency; Bush practically handed it to him on a silver platter, after he for all intents and purposes destroyed the country.

As for Bush, for me to pity him would mean that I believed he was duped. I don't believe that. I think he knew all along what he was doing...the bidding of the moneyed interests and the profiteers of corporate domination and war, the complete disregard for human life, the gutting of the Bill of Rights, the attempted takedown of the dollar. No pity for Bush; he deserves contempt...and prosecution.

Original article: How sorry is Joe Wilson?

I'm Sick of Republicans - All of Them

The Republican Party in its quest to regain power lost to them by the swaggering idiot and his henchman have clearly shown that no act is beneath them, no offense too seedy, no lie too big to promote. We already knew that, of course, but now it's so blatant that it nauseates me, if I could be any more nauseated after 8 years of Bush's Reign of Terror. Vote Wilson out, if you have a conscience. Bachmann, too. We need vast changes in our country, and all these seatwarmers care about is getting back to the business of destroying our economy and amassing their own treasures at our expense.

Iriswood, It's Not Just Alabama

Both the local school districts here in what is locally referred to as "lower Alabama" have decided that they will not air President Obama's speech, because, according to one of them, there is just no time left in the school day for interruptions! What a crock! And some of the parents seem to be one brick shy of a load, as the saying goes.

Joan, Happy Labor Day. And keep your chin up; let the fringers fry in their own fat...even Scarborough has had enough!

From a Real Texan

George W. Bush may have been raised in Texas, but he and his whole family are carpetbaggers from Connecticut. Repeat, as needed: George W. Bush is NOT A TEXAN, never was, and rumor has it that he's afraid of horses! The Crawford brush-clearing was just a Reaganesque front. Dixie Chicks, I always loved you, and always will. And the evangelical indoctrination camp attendees look, for all practical purposes, like they are saluting Der Furher. Oh, Glenn, looking back makes me want to gag. The fact that these (expletives deleted) are still running around free is a travesty of justice. Look what they did to our country. "...someone left the cake out in the rain..."
