Yet, division rather than unity, has been creeping into this country for some time now.
Very true. And if you want to trace its origins, you'll find yourself looking at the jowly face of Rush Limbaugh, who started this whole process back in the 90s. Now he's got a whole crew of conspirators who are pushing this division as a means to a very lucrative career. The lefties have arrived to this party late, and are obviously not as good at "catapulting the propaganda". They're apparently too constrained by the truth.
However, as you've discovered on these pages, we lefties can certainly use truth and logic to defend our POVs.
When varying opinions are expressed, words like trolls, crackers, neocons, right-wingers, racists, nuts, mobs, astroturf... or, Obama-cans, kool-aid drinkers, lefties..... are spewed.
Interesting that you included "neocons" and "right wingers" in your list of invective. Used to be, those were descriptors that right wing authoritarians used to describe themselves. Now those are insults? I guess that's right in line with all the republicans asking not to be called republicans anymore.
Obama is well-trained in Alinsky's methods. No argument there.
Okay, I gather in the last 2 weeks, some right wing think tank released some talking points that directed everyone to dig into this Alinsky guy from 40 years ago and bring him up as if he were relevant today. Just like Ayers. So, regarding that, good job on inserting the correct keywords into your post.
However, in terms of substance, is there anything Obama has done that you can point to that indicate he's using Alinsky's methods?
Because, meanwhile, the health care opponents have obviously studied Alinsky well and are employing his methods of disruption. Is this Alinsky thing just more authoritarian projection? That is, when you say "no argument there," is that your way of saying "there's no way I can support that in an argument so I won't even try?"
It may take you awhile to realize it, you just confirmed Palin's "death panel" line.
Sure.
And I know you won't ever realize this, but you've also confirmed that death panels exist in the present situation. Does this change at all the terms of your debate? Naaaw... This is about Obama's Waterloo, right? Who cares about a legitimate debate?
Question: In the current health care reform proposal, will people be taxed on their existing health insurance?
Well, as you should know, there is no single proposal. There are several. As for whether they contain this particular clause, I do not know for certain by I strongly suspect they do. I've heard this concern mentioned by a handful of lawmakers and Obama, that it's unfair to give businesses a tax break on their health insurance costs but still tax individuals.
So, in answer to your question: quite likely.
I now understand why Angelina Jolle won't have anything more to do with that shitbag. And I also understand why he tends to get typecast these days as the corrupt leader of some government organization.
Meanwhile, I do partially agree with him, we are heading inevitably for civil war. However, his attempt to point the finger at Obama as the cause of this is more projection on the authoritarians' part. Still, I'm not sure how much that will matter once the IEDs start going off.
The left is no better than the right, nothing but a bunch of prioritizers.
I think you'll find that setting priorities is an activity of all sides of the political spectrum, yourself included.
Warmongering hypocrites and fakers. Fuck them, they deserve to get fucked on everything from healthcare to the environment for their antiwar faker/user treachery.
We elected a president who claims to be ending the war in Iraq (and I believe him on that). Unlike Bush, who would have stayed the course until the Iraqis all praised his name, or McCain who wanted to stay for 100 years, Obama has set into motion a plan to actually leave. That plan has a timeline and is ongoing. I'm not sure what more you'd like us to do in the meantime.
As far as Afghanistan goes, I can see the US between a rock and a hard place. If we up and leave today, the Taliban will undoubtedly be back, and Afghanistan will once again be a failed state like Somalia where illegal activity will be allowed to breed. From where I sit, that appears to be the fate that Obama is working to avoid. How he's going about avoiding it is debatable. Sorry, is this too much complexity for you?
I hope Sarah Palin becomes president in 2012 just so the "Left" can eat shit.
Duly noted. You want to see the country fail once and for all, for the personal gratification you will get from seeing your democratic foes eat shit. Great! Glad to have you as a fellow American!
...you might assume that he's the idiot that the book will teach you to argue with.
Then when you discover, no, that's the guy who wrote the book, then you come face to face with the American idiocracy.
