@Cuchulain2007

In the Pelosi/Hoyer OP Ed in USA Today, she said "Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American."

Oh, I see. Thanks for the heads-up. I suppose it's too much to ask whether she actually called Bush a loser? We can dream...

So, Pelosi said "drowning out opposing views is un-American," and the authoritarians have responded by assuming she's calling all the right-wing protesters unAmerican.

Does this mean that all the protesters were there trying to drown out opposing views? This seems to be what the republicans here are saying.

The right has a problem hearing anything. They're shouting too loud. They also, as Joan mentioned, tend to conflate things.

Yes, the way they conflate things is responsible for most of their delusion. Just yesterday, one of the resident imbeciles here said that when Joan pointed out the obvious truth that kids of any ethnicity beat the crap out of each other all the time, that was her way of approving a black kid beating the crap out of a white kid. My 4-year-old son can reason much better than that!

Ultimately, I don't think republicans' mentality is equipped to handle the natural complexity of the world. This is why they struggle to put things into 1 of 2 buckets: BAD or GOOD. And god forbid they ever re-evalute those buckets; such re-evaluation is for the worthless and weak.

Republicanism is, at its core, a mental illness.

Electro Robot Zorkna

With your impeccable credibility, I know all our opinions hinge on what you claim to be your experience. Please tell us about how it's open season on white kids! Oh, and don't forget to remind us how liberals sure hate all those joos.

@tbolioli

Acorn took in 53 million to date from the Feds. But it stood to take in another 8.5 billion next year as a census contractor.

WRONG.

The figure is actually $5.2 billion, which is the total amount which ACORN could have competed for against hundreds of other firms. The likelihood that ACORN would have been awarded the whole amount is nil.

If you can't debate these points honestly, you'd do better to focus on simpler topics.

@farragut

she called conservative protesters un American and Nazis. She also called Bush a loser.

She did???

I mean, it's undeniable that most conservative protesters are at their core unAmerican and sympathize with much that the Nazis did. You never miss an opportunity to remind us, farragut. And as for Bush being a loser, the ink's already dried on that one.

However, I really don't remember Pelosi ever saying that. Can you provide a link? My opinion of her is on the verge of improving dramatically.

Right Wing Authoritarians suddenly learn about Accountability

Well, better late than never, I say. Welcome aboard the good ship Responsible Citizen. Let's go after those people and organizations who have broken our laws.

There's a lot of em, so let's start at the top. We'll begin by investigating what appear to be the most grievous crimes. Halliburton's no bid contracts combined with being caught double-billing the US taxpayers looks like a good place to start, wouldn't you agree? I mean, they have benefited from our generosity to the tune of $2 billion. No small potatoes there! ONWARD!!!

Then we'll go after Blackwater, and the murderers and rapists who were doing so on the taxpayer dime.

After that, we'll look at Goldman Sacks, Leeman Bros, and the others. Our economy was screwed due to all sorts of shenanigans by them, costing us trillions. LET'S GOOOOOOO!!!

Hey!!! What are you guys doing standing around when we've got good work to do? You say you want to go after ACORN instead? But compared to those other guys, ACORN is a drop in the bucket. Oh, I agree, they look shady, by why put them at the top of the list when so much more could be accomplished by going after these other big dogs? What's that you say? IMPEACHED??? You say you're hoping to take down ACORN so that you can hopefully impeach Obama? How does that work? What??? You don't know how that works, all you know is you want him to be impeached? Just because this tactic worked on Clinton, you think it will work again?

So...what about these other companies? What's that? We can't go after Halliburton because they're on a mission from God? What kind of bullshit is that??

Can we get someone else to help us bring accountability to government? These guys have completely missed the point.

@Obamalamadingdong

I feel it is time to start the tidious process of peeling back that onion and seeing where it goes. That is all we've asked.

Of course. After all, each time a person with a D after his name gets voted into the White House, you republicans need to launch investigations into absolutely every single fact-free allegation that comes along. Have you considered looking into whether or not Obama had Vince Foster killed? If he's got nothing to hide, it shouldn't be a big deal to investigate this, right?

Meanwhile, during the heady years of radical Bush criminality, what was your thought about these kinds of investigations. Yeah, I know: "Investigation?? The president answers to no man!!"

Fucking hypocrite.
