I understand that you disagree with Glenn Greenwald's post, but I don't get what you see as "straw man" about his argument. How is he misrepresenting the position of those calling Khalidi an anti-semite?
Linky @ sig - GG musta brewed a strong cafezinho this morning.
Glen -> Glenn

gods sake -> god's sake
He's working through some deep pain as best he can.

Just let him be.
...is the guy in the corner tearing his hair out with an expression like that of Much's painting on his face:

"The remarks she added — that weren’t on the prompter or in the speech as it was sent out to the media — are in bold."
Let me get this straight: you think this is something the Obama campaign released, saying it was the original birth certificate - doing it on a laser printer form dated 2001, figuring nobody would notice?
And that nobody did notice, except for one lone intrepid Salon commenter?
And you're here calling everybody else dumb?
Better trolls, please.
Sure it is a legal document, but it was issued in November 2001.
The form - the piece of paper fed into the printer from whence issued the Certification of Live Birth - was printed in November of 2001. The certification itself was released in 2007 - a legal document issued by the government of the State of Hawai'i.
If you want to provide evidence alleging tampering of legal record by the (Republican) administration of the State of Hawai'i on behalf of Barack Hussein Obama II, please do so. Otherwise, you're just hand-waving.
Better and smarter trolls.
I cannot help but notice you ignore the date and the word LASER
This has been explained to you a number of times in the past few minutes. You keep referring back to this word LASER, and I just picture you making Dr. Evil "finger quotes" around the scary word as you type it.
Neither is it mine.
Duly noted.
this is my new favorite word.
You refuse to acknowledge this.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!
You are awesome. It's Kaufmannesque mastery.
while a modern reprint is a legal document and recognized by the state of Hawaii, it is not the same as an original document for the purpose of establishing his birth place.
It is exactly the same. Again, if you want to allege tampering by the Lingle government, please provide some evidence... even circumstantial. Something. Sharks with frickin' laser beams on their heads, anything at all...
Provide the document, don't ask me for evidence
No. That's not how it works. The State of Hawai'i has the authority to certify when and where a citizen was born. If you want to challenge that, the burden of proof is on you to show the records are incorrect have been tampered with.
I'm not saying I know you're wrong, just that you haven't made your case.
Did George W. Bush really "land[] on a" (NAVY!!) "aircraft carrier in an Air Force flight jacket?"
I couldn't agree more, Glenn.
Seems like you think a lot of things are simultaneously "the most important issue we're facing," since you write on a fairly broad range of topics: often more than one in a single day.
I dunno. Maybe you need meds.
Most of the people who will agree to my complaints about the Obama Administration will be people whose opinions I revile.
I'll be over here in the corner doing bong rips with Dennis Perrin and IOZ...
I'd chalk that up to Palin's remarkably clumsy speaking style, but I agree it could be seen s sinister if one were so inclined.
Hours, not days, till we've seen the last of that one...
NotOrbitBoy is right, and we can joke about "stopped clocks" or whatever... but it's a valid point: is Obama leading because of his "centrist" (read: centre-right) positioning - or despite that?
If we win this one, I'm gonna run outside and hug a black person
Really, just... don't. kthx
Not that elephantman is listening or even cares if he is... but under US law, it is a war crime to invade a country absent the sanction of the UN Security Council.
But contravening US and international law is nothing compared to a man lying about cheating on his wife. On, you know, TV.
You censor anyone who disagrees with you here in this column
Like Elephantman, whose comments still stand. By counterexample, your assertion is disproved. You lose! You get nothing! Good day, sir!
If you would hang around and make interesting arguments, instead of posting the equivalent of bathroom-stall one-liners, you might find that your comments lose that invisible-ink quality.
All snark aside, it made me - still makes me - deeply sad.
It makes me wonder how many other people who regularly spit hateful remarks, online and in the media, have similarly dark personal lives. And it has tended to make me check my swings a little.
no one I ever gave a blowjob to seemed to equate the act with torture, genocide, or consitutional crime.
It's all, I think, in the technique.

OMG! OMG! I am so pwn3d!1!!! Holy shit, I have never heard that one before.
There is zero point in contributing
We understand. You'll be missed.
Touché.
Glenn, you cross-dressing pothead. Just because she mentioned l'affaire Lewinsky before a laundry list of Bush crimes an abuses should in no way suggest that she was creating any sort of parallel.
You know when you select a block of text, and then the mouse slips while you're still holding the button down? It was doubtless one of those.
She wrote about Clinton's sex and hot tubs diminishing the perception that the White House is "classy," and then went on to refer to Bush's crimes as diminishing the White House's ability to "inspire." These are not equivalent standards.
I'm sorry. Gonna stick with the "drag-n-drop" argument myself.
