@frankly0

Thereupon I am greeted with the superior ridicule of Paul Daniel Ashe for not knowing that, of course, you fool, it's progressive -- look at its mission statement.

Well thank you. I think of my ridicule as being quite nice, but "superior" may be overstating it somewhat.

In my opinion you're being willfully obtuse in order to be argumentative. Your first assertion was "hey, your mission statement says all you care about is accountability, what about people who are against evolution hyuck hyuck hyuck?" I pointed out that the mission statement in fact did talk more about the specific orientation of Accountability Now.

They're not single-issue or doctrinaire, and I don't think you really are suffering from as much confusion as you pretend to. It's something that people do all the time to appear independent, and it's no big deal... just a little tiresome.

@frankly0

It seems to me that it is better by far to acknowledge that your overall philosophy is of a progressive bent

If you read the mission, as you say, how did you miss this:

Accountability Now will help create the political space needed to enable President Obama to make good on the many progressive policies he campaigned on

http://accountabilitynowpac.com/about/

It's a little hard for me to imagine that you actually read that and thought Accountability Now was about making sure that politicians heeded the will of their constituents to, say, compel the teaching that dinosaurs and men walked the earth together.

@jcjcjcjcjcjcjc

If a mass casualty attack happens during the watch of this Administration, be prepared to wave 'Bye, bye!'

Why don't you have the courage to come out and say what you are trying to say, instead of being all cute about it?

@NOB

For every example of a Republican making such an appeal, I can provide an example of a Democrat doing the same.

Fair enough. I'd like to test the truth or falsity of your claim.

Find a comment made by a Democrat - someone of the national stature of Karl Rove, former Deputy Chief of Staff to the President of the United States - that's an out-and-out lie at the level of the comments Glenn quotes.

I dont know that you can't find one, but I'll be interested to see what you come up with.

pathology

Pathological liars convince themselves that they are telling the truth.

I essentially agree with this... but as quibbly as this sounds, it's almost like you can't call him a "pathological" liar: after all, that is his job. His whole professional life revolves around reality hacking, and he ascended to the pinnacle of Americal political society based on his success in doing that. A pathological human being perhaps, but lying is an adaptive skill in his life.

I'm sure there are excellent, really talented torturers out there, and that they have a nimble there-is-no-spoon mental jiujitsu that they engage in continuusly in order to continue to use their evolution-given intelligence to do what they do very well without thinking about it. I suspect Rove is much the same.

Completely off-topic: I don't usually care or write about typos - being an avid producer of them myself - but "new-clear weapons" is a classic. I'm sure it was in the original, but wow.

I'd give $5 towards having it tattooed on your forehead

What was that? Some year old crap said in anger?

I've been angry on these pages, and for longer than a year ago. Ask adnoto, I get real pissy. Somehow I don't spew racist shit like that, though. Wonder why that is.

Back in the day we said You own your own words. Cuts both ways, Sugarman.

@NOB

You've proven a right wing talking point.

People don't understand what's in the stimulus bill.

(facepalm)

This is like that thing where you say government doesn't work... then set out to break it? You people would be laughable if you weren't dangerous.

Look! Up there! It is a drone!! Run! SkyNet is coming!!!!

@NOB

The federal govt will get it

No. They will not. You are talking out your ass. Everyone knows it - including you.

Present evidence, or cease en-flatulating the vicinity.

@NOB

So I take you now understand that there truly are plans to create a national database of health records?

You really are hard of reading, aren't you?

Unless we have different definitions of the terms "database," "national," and for that matter, "a" -- then you are just talking nonsense.

Put up or STFU. If you have any evidence that there are plans for a "bureaucracy [...] whereby our private health records are placed in a government database, and reviewed by bureaucrats," please present it.
