If it hadn't been for the Congressperson's spouse...

Well, of course, it was tantamount to a crime against humanity when Rep. Young's wife was tossed out for her pro-war t-shirt, but perfectly okay, as in "I don't care about her," when Cindy Sheehan was arrested for her anti-war t-shirt. Now, can you guess where Ms Sheehan would be today if it weren't for Ms Young and her personal connection? Hmm, I would guess trying to bail herself out. What surprised and disappointed me was that the rest of the Republicans didn't just stand right up in solidarity for hypocrisy with Rep. Young and say, "screw Cindy and let her rot in jail." What is the world coming to?!

Wrong day?

I thought April Fool's Day is this Saturday.

Original article: Camille's back!

What's it all about?

It's all about Camille. It's always been all about Camille. I'll probably resubscribe in spite of the rate increase, but I sure as hell wouldn't unsubscribe on the basis of the (re)addition of this silly woman. I just won't read her.

The next steps would be even better

Ok, now that Imus is gone, let's go after the other guys, like truth-challenged Limbaugh, Savage, Drudge, Hannity, and other right-wing venom spewers who've never been at a loss for the words of hate. Evil little twerps, they.

The Criminal Class

"Law and order" was always just another catch-phrase to dupe a willing public - Americans are mere sheep, susceptible to such Republican/neo-con values as fear-mongering, "law & order" and other such bullshit. So, the only surprise would have been if Bush had "stayed the course" of justice. Ha! This is the criminal class at a higher level, we're talking about here. One criminal (Libby) protects the ass of the other criminal (Bush-Cheney, who knows who else) and then Libby gets the favor returned. That's justice; well, the corruption of it anyway.

Time to level the field

Well, I'm a Red Sox fan - about 50 years since I first saw Ted Williams on a neighbor's TV, the only one around in those days.

The win in 2004 was delicious, to be sure, though I think for many of us Sox fans the best part was slicing and dicing the Yanks in that lovely little bit of post-season/pre-Series play.

But this year, I didn't feel like cheering. The final win wasn't a great joy, rather a disappointment, actually. A little competition would have helped. It's very likely that any of the leading AL teams would have smacked any of the NL teams in the Series, they were all so comparatively dreadful.

But this was a bought-and-paid-for win (yeah, yeah, I know about those losing richer-boy Yanks, but that's incompetance in spite of the money). It's time to stop this nonsense, time for MLB to level the field at least to the degree the NFL did, so then we really see good baseball, not just easy, predictable routs. Speaking of the NFL, look at the Patriots and their amazing season - and Indianapolis, too. Someone in one of these posts claimed that the Patriots must, MUST be cheating to do this well. (The same writer, illogically, also said every team uses steroids -- which, then couldn't give one team an advantage, methinks.) No, I don't think the Patriots cheat, in spite of that stupidity with the video cam last month. These people are perfectly matched as a team, with a great coach. And every other team has the monetary ability to do the same with their staff; it's just that the Patriots did it and are doing it so very, very well.

So, it's time to bring equality to the MLB. It's not likely to happen soon, I despond, but with each year we continue this way, baseball will become more and more irrelevant and I'll switch off the TV and the Red Sox and go for a walk or something.

Are you kidding? You must be kidding!

What a bunch of sanctimonious bullshit. I can't believe this crap. Cary, you've got to stop drinking and writing your column at the same time.

So, dear Granddaughter, let me stand in for Cary in this time of trial - his and yours.

KILL THE GODDAMN DOG! Ok, do it "humanely" - or "doganely," whatever. Your grandmother has Alzheimer's, for whining out loud! She won't remember! Go out and buy her a nice, cuddly teddy-dog, or maybe even a cat - a real one. Cats take care of themselves - as do cuddly teddy-dogs. Everyone will be happy - Grampa, Gramma -- and you, especially you. Not to mention that obese dog that pees all over the floor and doesn't have a clue but probably just wants to die!

Some will go the other way

I'm sick and tired of the Clintons and I worry about Clintons Redux, and their two-steps-backward rendition of "We're entitled." Mrs. Hillary has always been an ambitious person, good for her, and she's entitled to run for the presidency on the (tattered) coattails of Mr. Bill. (I suspect that had he not been her husband, philanderer or not, she would not be anywhere near the top of this heap. Prove me wrong on that!) They were always the conniving politicians, through thick and thin, and I'm not about to reward that shit with my vote. If she gets the nomination, I'm over to the dark side and voting for the Republican. My only (other than giving the shaft to the Clintons) joy in that is it will only be another 4 years, and then Barack Obama can come back and put things right. Yep, a vote for Clinton is a vote for the past. A vote for, um, yech, ah, let's see, McCain(?) is a vote for the future - Obama's.
