@dmgoss

I don't think your thesis (fighters are bound to become ugly because of the punishment they take) holds. Let's put cauliflower ear aside, because that's usually a relic of a wrestling past (where it's considered a point of pride), and is easily preventable if one chooses.

I mean, can you honestly tell me Anderson Silva and GSP are hideous trolls?

it's amazing

This never happened at meetings with a war criminal, responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people. But now that the government wants to try to help people and save money, there are riots.

This country is a joke.

who cares?

Just like with torture, and invading Iraq, and countless other things, they're going to get away with it.

Given this, knowing the truth only serves as a kick in the gut to people who believe in justice. It shows just how unjust our country is, and will be again, any time people with designs on power actually get the opportunity to seize it.

As long as there are no consequences, it's going to get worse before it gets better.

Attorneys serve at the pleasure of the president.

And yet, if an attorney were fired immediately after, say, filing a sexual harassment suit against a superior, that would probably be called into question.

There's a proper time/way to do it, and an improper one. This was improper.

A Worried Country With Cause To Worry? Sure

Of course, I'm worried about the amount of stupid coming from the idiot factory, and how it's going to prevent the USA from ever doing anything truly great. I'm worried that people are going to die because these folks in Lewisburg - and those like them all across the country - have no idea what "socialism" is.

To anyone who cares about the future of this country, and actually knows anything about anything, this is very frightening stuff.

"Just remember that the next time a liberal figure dies and you see hurtful comments by right wingers."

The right wing showing false moral equivalence? No way!

As if somehow being happy when misfortune befalls truly miserable bastards who are traitors to their country and/or were responsible for thousands upon thousands of innocent deaths is somehow the same as being happy when good people with whom you disagree die.

No. No, a thousand times no. I was happy when Ronald Reagan died, because his actions were directly responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent human beings in Central America and the Middle East (and eventually in the USA too). The same goes for any warmongering chicken hawk, lobbing bombs at innocent people in order to enrich themselves. We are richer for having lost them.

And then you've got someone like Obama, who for all his many faults is at least trying to turn some of the considerable power of the USA to help unhealthy people. And yet to you these people are morally equivalent. In fact, I'd venture a guess that to you, the latter is far worse than the former.

Well I'm not buying it. Good riddance, Bob. I'm sorry for your family and friends, but I'm happy for America and the world.

"tolerant" liberals - another fun right-wing game!

Because liberals are tolerant of things like "having a different skin color than me" or "kissing people of the same sex," it automatically means we're supposed to be tolerant of "killing innocent people" or "treason." Obviously.

Keep 'em coming, Nathan.

@calamine

OK, I'll say it.

"YOU CAN LET GO OF YOUR DICKS NOW.

Seriously, there's an awful lot of hysterical paranoia here. A judge declares that a libelous blogger's name be revealed, and all of a sudden we're living in the land of Vicious Amazons? That's a bit pussified even for you trolls.

Relax, will ya?"

I'd like to add that reading the Broadsheet comments makes me feel just a little ashamed to be a guy sometimes.

Sincerely,

Nick Rollins

One word: RETIRE

Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., doesn't want his state left with only one vote in the Senate for months in the event of his death.

But he's perfectly comfortable with his state having just one vote for months while he's alive.

who cares?

They got away with it. Nothing is going to be done about the lies, manipulations, and criminal activity. So why even bother telling us about it? It happened, and it's damn well going to happen again once someone is willing to manipulate the system like that to maintain power.

This is America. I hope you like it, because nobody's going to change it.

@NOB

It's not about you, and it's not about the people who are satisfied with their health coverage. Imagine if, instead of public education we had people like you saying "I can already afford to go to school, so I don't see why the government should go around building schools and hiring teachers!"

Or maybe you'd prefer that. How sick.

I'd actually like to know myself

Holder, in not prosecuting the people who enabled the torture, is doing the United States a disservice.

I'd like someone who's truly interested in the good of the country to do what's right. But that's not going to happen.

Holder and King are on the same side, and I don't think either realizes it.

The second? Let's call it unverified.

@Lord Darth

"Dull-Witted" "Ignorant", "Crude", "Know-Nothings".

Crude, sure, but I'd be hard-pressed to find anyone else willing to attribute those other three attributes to William Shakespeare.

You've either got a very provocative opinion of The Bard, or you are, yourself, a know-nothing.

it's all about wealth to these guys

I'm glad to hear him explicitly state it. To Republicans, it's about wealth. Not about morals. Not about happiness. Not about doing right by others. Money.

I mean, we all knew it. It's just good to hear him state it.
