Given his current spin that Franken should put a stop to a process he has no control over (the automatic recount) and his trying to paint Franken as just a sore loser who only wants to prevent "healing" and other rhetorical nonsense, should the recount go his way, Coleman will probably start claiming he has an "overwhelming mandate."
You know, the exact same mandate the Republicans keep claiming Obama does not have.
Agreed. If nearly 30 years of deregulation and trickle down economics hadn't failed so miserably when it did, we might not even talking about President Obama. Ooops, even during the time I spent typing this, a few more million dollars just went down the Iraqi sinkhole. Thank god there was no redistribution of wealth on Bush's watch! Ooops, I had to go and add that last sentence; more money into Iraq the longer I type. Gotta go!
Glad you're just kidding. Phew. I was kind of afraid you'd shoot a Cruciatus curse my way.
Interesting that in your eyes we're still all just Obama maniacs even though you voted for Hillary knowing that it would not accomplish anything toward putting her in office. Even now, you seem stuck on the idea that millions of Obama votes can only be explained by some kind of cultish behavior.
While you, of course, are free of all similar devotion to your candidate. Nothing too blindly obsessive on your part. Nope.
If you wanted to vote for Hillary, I think that's fine. You voted the way you felt was best. But to suggest that other people cast their votes out of some kind mania... well, it's just kind of ironic, that's all.
Are you really going to haul out the tired "My Dear" subject lines again? My dear, so drear.
And we all got what you asked for under Bush: Two endless wars with no exit in sight, the destruction or weakening of several constitutional rights, a unitary executive accountable to no one (what might be called a dictator in other countries), a ruined economy, a staggering deficit, enormous job losses, a weakened infrastructure, a collapsing healthcare system, a real estate market in collapse, and a 700 billion dollar bailout for rich people which is in no way to be confused with Socialism, which apparently is defined as something that would work for the benefit of poor people.
Really, what a dinosaur you are. Haven't you got a tar pit to wander into or something?
The most frustrating and hilarious thing during the election was to have to listen to all the attempts to paint Obama as a wild-eyed liberal.
Many people on here are entirely correct; the political spectrum in this country has been moved so far right that when we now draw the "left" border, it is actually already bland middle of the road crap.
I, Tideswimmer, am a wild-eyed liberal. Look at me! I'm so wacky that I actually expect that when a president or someone in his cabinet breaks the law of the land, they should be punished for that, not have Get-Out-Of-Jail-Free legislation passed for him in congress. I am so looney tunes that I get very upset when the constitution is attacked and weakened, and long cherished rights like habeas corpus are abolished. What a freakin' nutcase I am, being upset at living in a country where torture, and killing innocent people, is normalized, institutionalized, justified and excused. I am such a frothing at the mouth moon-bat that I even dare question how we can drop a trillion bucks in Iraq and pay for it with even more tax cuts to the people and companies who are doing a two-fisted money grab of a large portion of that money. Yes! I must be some kind of lunatic freak!
Yes, I am the looney left personified, and I'm here to tell all the right wing blowhards to relax, you have nothing to worry about. Much as I supported Obama throughout the campaign, I am under no illusions whatsoever that I will one day wake up in an America that conforms to my vision. We will move left, because we must, but that "left" is still only mildly moderate.
