—When those who "outed" Valerie Plame don't even get a judicial "slap on the wrist", why should "Scooter" Libby wear prison uniform?
Umm, because he was convicted, and wearing a prison uniform is supposed to be what convicted criminals wear? Because that has been the fate of millions of convicted Americans that have come before him?
Really, now. Are you truly this dense?
Yes, I'm sure it's all about the hypocrisy with you. That's what has driven you to keep responding with the same point over and over. But since you say its about hypocrisy and a supposed lack of reaction for Clinton's wrong actions, then you must be then acknowledging that Bush's actions were wrong too. Otherwise, it's pointless to try and balance the one off the other.
If I promise to get mad at Clinton, will you promise to hold Bush to account too? Is that what you are wanting here? Okay, I'm mad at Clinton.
Your turn.
Please help me out. I'm having trouble grasping your point. This "allegedly" thing is moot. It was alleged lying until Libby was found guilty of it. Now he is a convicted criminal. A jury of his peers listened to evidence and determined that he did, in fact, lie and obstruct justice.
Even Bush has said that he wants to respect the findings of the jury. Is Bush lying about that? Does he, in reality, believe the trial was a total sham? If that's what he believes he should say so. If he does believe that, but denies it, then he is a political coward unwilling to voice his true convictions for fear of consequences.
I asked you in another thread: please explain to us why what Bush did is good for America and Americans. Why should Joe and Mary Average feel relieved and reassured that they do not, in fact, live in a country with a two-tiered justice system as it now seems? I'm sure we would all like to hear an actual opinion from you, not this tired and tiring repetition.
Please make your case.
That's funny, the tapir part was the selling part of the whole story for me. I was kind of suspicious up until then. But then, 20 years living with the Woolanga Tribe in the Venezuelan jungles gave me profound knowledge of this misunderstood rodent. For instance, did you know that rubbing yourself all over with a live tapir (not easily accomplished, I admit it), is a proven method for avoiding malaria? A once a week regimen is best.
Wow, did I know exactly what you were talking about. That was my life in 1984 when I moved to L.A.
Man, if I still lived there, I'd be your friend. Let's see, I still know some people down there. Who could I fix you guys up with?
Seriously, I'm getting all weepy.
I'm not worried much about islamo bomber guy people whatevers. The people who scare the living crap out of me are the 30 percenters in the crowd who stood listening to this verbal meltdown with weepy tears of near joy in their eyes. "Yes, more of the same! We must never stop the holy mission we are on right now! Thank God at least someone gets it!"
I don't care if Rudy lost his script. He's delivered this nonsense ten thousand times, and "off the top of his head" this is the best he could do? Does he even listen to what he himself is saying? But bad as it was, I'm sure it served its purpose for the 30 percenters.
Why do the candidates bother speaking at all? They could just set up some kind of Price Is Right Plinko machine. Words are dropped in at the top and filter down. Most are just white noise, but every now and again words like Terror or Values or Sanctity plink by, and these morons will think that they've just been witness to the Sermon on the Mount.
The first self-important moron who just can't wait to blurt out the ending before I have a chance to read the book!
Just kidding, sort of.
While they may want to try and break iTunes' and Apple's dominance, it's a strange marketing choice. If they don't make it available for purchase, then I can't buy it. And no, I'm not going to go chasing around all over the place trying to find where the heck I CAN buy it.
It will be interesting to compare their approach to EMI's DRM free iTunes plus approach, which has prompted me to buy a couple of albums I wasn't really needing, but what the heck. Universal probably wants to be able to charge the higher iTunes Plus rate without giving anything more in value to the consumer. Gee, I wonder how that's going to work out for them.
Just look at him and you can tell right away that Cheney's made out of nothing but dark matter.
This has got to be a joke, right? I'd heard so many complaints about Paglia's columns that I thought I would finally take another look. I'd tried to read her in the past, but was unimpressed. Meh, it wasn't for me but then something for everyone, right?
So I tune in to this column, and man is it awful. That's not just an opinion; it's fact. It is really really awful. As many others have said, I didn't get past page 1.5. Or maybe I should say, I couldn't get past page 1.5. It was physically impossible to read another word. The first letter was bad enough, with it's collection of moronic cliches about endless war, etc., and then to have her respond as if it was a thing instead of a nothing. The Bush administration doesn't lie? Oh. My. God.
Anyway. Waste of space, waste of time, waste of money. Earlier I said, "something for everyone, right?" Well, here it seems we have a case where she offers nothing for anyone. When DOES her contract run out?
