Original article: The definitive 200?

Well, I think all lists suck

Even whatever list I came up with would probably suck by other people's standards. But there are so many albums on this list that don't fit any definition of the word "definitive" that this list is particularly useless.

As pointed out numerous times, if it's a list of "albums" as defined by revolving around a certain concept, then there is no way you can justify not having "Tommy" or "Quadrophenia" on the list. That's just for starters.

All lists are subjective, but it can be stated objectively, as a fact, that this list is worthless.

Wow, Anonymous

That's the biggest leap in building me (as a liberal) into a straw man I've ever seen.

I can't even begin to understand what you are talking about.

Somehow, I'm a hypocrite, I get that. And the reason that I am is because if Hilary, a woman... instead of John Edwards, a man, showed concern for the health of her spouse... That would mean... Huh? What? It would be bad... I guess? And I'd be foaming at the mouth or something?

Caring for a spouse is bad? I should rather give my vote to a candidate who abandons their spouse in the hospital, ala Newt Gingrich? Or fights cancer and then abandons their spouse for another woman, like Giuliani?

Really, I'm puzzled. I can't figure out at all what your point might be. I just don't know what you are trying to say.

Credibility is a key issue

I am reminded of "The Island of Lost Souls," the 1933 film version of H.G. Wells' "The Island of Dr. Moreau." In the film, Moreau kept his hideous creations in check by a strict adherence to 4 basic laws. When Moreau himself breaks the law, the law no longer has any hold over the animal-men, and why should it? Laws are a set of rules that we all agree to live by for the benefit of all. If they do not apply to all, then laws are merely tools of slavery, whereby some people get to control and dominate others.

If they are tools of slavery, they deserve scorn, contempt, and rigid disobediance.

It's time to take this administration to the house of pain.

Bah! Too Many Good Vibes Going Here

All you liberal moonbats. What's the matter? The truth hurt too much so you change the letters section, Waah waaah waah, the mean old Republicans keep showing up here and pointing out the truth to us, Waaah waaah, because really you're all scared because you know you are wrong and Bush is right and the Global War on Terror isn't just going to win itself, you bunch of no-brain crybabies. You'ld like nothing better than having terrorists goosestepping in the streets of America, which is what will happen within ten minutes of an Iraq pullout, and then where will you hide? In the Salon letter pages? Please, Mr. Terrorist, if you don't behead me I'm sure we can talk about our feelings and reach an agreement. Not!

So you thing you're hiding out all safe now, in your letters columns, but Saddam was a dictator, in case you've all forgotten. Or maybe you'd rather live in Saddam Land since you think it's so fun. Oh, but that's right, I forgot, you're all hippocrits, aren't you? Not so many cheeseburgers in Saddam Land and if Biil KKKlintion was good at anything it was eating burgers, but there's no cheeseburgers in Iraq, That's why Klinton didn't go. A war for oil, you say, but French Fries are fried in oil, in case you've all forgotten, but then you moonbats always forget the little details like that, so you probably think that's just fine and dandy just as long as you get to keep stuffing your hippie mouths with vegetarian food -- oh, look at me, how "evolved" I am, not eating meat I"m so much better than you; well just keep on thinking that way, buddy, and then wonder why Red state America keeps not understanding what the hell you are talking about or voting for your pretty boy candidates like John "How's my Hair?" Edwards, I'm laughing all the way to the next election already you worthless pack of banana eating surrender monkies.

Sorry, about that, all. I like the new format, but I was having withdrawal pangs from the cold turkey absence of some of the troll letters
