I first saw Palin on the Craig Ferguson show when she awarded him honorary Alaskan citizenship while he was waiting for his INS interview. She was on Kudlow - twice I believe. There was an hour interview earlier in the month - I forgot the station. Somehow I don't think you have to worry about her reluctance to grant interviews. Unless you are doing this to try to embarrass her but why would an objective person like yourself want to do that?
You can google Palin, Iraq, Germany and will find a picture of her visiting the wounded troops in Germany - on her fact-finding mission - July 26, 2007. That is ONE year before Obama was shamed into visiting Iraq and ONE year before Obama insulted our wounded troops in Germany by deciding not to visit them - he worked out at the posh Ritz Carlton Hotel - great picture opportunity - and then gave an interview for CNN. Was that a lack of common sense?
I look forward to Palin's interviews. She can discuss her participation in the August meeting of the Artic Parliamentarian Conference in which she attended and presented. Energy needs and climate change were 2 of the issues under discussion. There are 8 countries in the APC plus representatives from several other countries also attended. Countries she rubbed elbows with included China, Russia, UK, Poland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark - to name just a few. Obama has never taken part of such an international event which will develop policy which will affect future foreign policy. Neither has Biden worked directly with so many other countries on such important world-wide issues. Also, I am curious if the new Energy Minister for the UK was there to discuss his point of view that there is NO scientific evidence that man has created global warming. He does, however, agree that we should practice sane conservation strategies.
I look forward to her discussion of these issues - plus others - in the future. Your clock is silly and sophomoric.
You do understand, I hope, that the Governor of a state does not make the recommendation to thin out herds of deer, or packs of wolfs. There is a state regulatory agency that does this. If you want to be accurate, you can also check out the permits to kill polar bears given out by Canada. We have a special hunting season for deer in CT where permits are given out in a lottery. Overpopulation occurs when life is too easy for animals such as deer so hunting is allowed. Wolfs have been shot in other states, moved to other areas, and recently, some have been returned to the wild. Some ranchers are unhappy with this based upon the loss of calves.
That a plane is used makes sense since Alaska is a vast state. I believe several other states also use planes - to manage the animal population. Food is dropped. Animals are counted. You can't do it on foot.
You either approve of hunting or you do not. If you don't, then you will object to Palin's agreeing to proposed policies from Alaska's Wildlife agency. Conservation sometimes demands that we think with our common sense rather than our emotions. Rather than just complain about Palin, please take some time to investigate the issue.
Gov. Palin has spent far less on her personal travel than her predecessor: $93,000 on airfare in 2007, compared with $463,000 spent the year before by her predecessor, Frank Murkowski. He traveled often in an executive jet that Palin called an extravagance during her campaign. She sold it after she was sworn into office.
Palin's been proud that her mom was the secretary of the school in which her dad taught. Careful - It's a cesspool out there with phony facts everywhere.
You mentioned Palin's visit to Kuwait and Germany but neglected to state that it took place in 2007 - one year before Obama was shamed into making his Grand Tour one year later. Besides, she took the time to visit the wounded troops in Landsthul ,(SP?) Germany, while Obama elected to diss them and worked out at the posh Ritz Carlton instead. And then he gave an interview - to CNN. To me that is a lack of respect to our troops. There was NO reason he could go - except to leave the cameras behind. There's a picture of Palin taken July 36, 2007, at the hospital. It was taken by a military staff person and posted. Also, who paid for Obama's grand Tour to Europe and the Middle East? The taxpayers of Illinois? American citizens such as you and me? (That my tax money would pay for a workout at the Ritz Carlton disgusts me.) Or, was it Obama's campaign funds? Somehow I doubt that.
I am also disgusted by the liberal media rushing to discredit Palin. From the charges that she wasn't vetted properly to the other blatant lies being told. I've had a great time learning about Palin and Alaska by visiting the Wasilla and State sites. Great reading. I learned that she attended and presented at the Artic Parliamentarian conference who met to discuss energy concerns and climate change - to name a few. The AP consists of 8 nations. In addition, other nations attend as observers. Information is shared with countries such as China, Russia, UK (whose newest energy minister has just ridiculed the concept of climate change being man made), Poland, Sweden, Norway - for example. This gives Palin some foreign policy experience Obama lacks. His Grand Tour was a party of good food and good times. Nothing serious was accomplished during it.
