This seems a case where the ACLU should back off for now. They score a major victory with a Republican and threaten to damage it in the eyes of so many voters. Can you imagine the backlash of fighting for molesters and murderers in an election for state office? Hard-liners will replace centrists and the Rodriguez's of Florida will again be shut out of the vote. Life isn't fair, don't make it worse.
Politically Lost,
I get two for the price of one with a family-gathering holiday coming this weekend. The anger of realizing the story and then the awe when it is parroted at brunch on Sunday by intelligent people.
I'm impressed with 75%. Another reason they don't show is sudden or torturous death.
Watch out dad! The only one directly affected by Keith's action was the venerable Mr. Richards(dad), but he's dead and doesn't care. I thought Burns was an Irish singer at the Jersey shore? Being a popular indie band or movie doesn't make you great by the way, lasting 100? years does. I actually hate the Stones too.
The last one was on purpose though, to protect a friend, I see. Good that you need to emulate his worst habit, just please make a will or arrangements for your children. Thanks.
I would feel the same if my daughter was killed by any drunk driver, extreme sadness and anger b/c my daughter was killed. The illegal in this case should have been deported prior to the accident, but all drunk drivers should not be on the road. This is a tragedy which plays very little into the illegal immigrant problem as a whole.
Until this piece, I never thought I could write for a respected online news journal. Thanks for giving me hope!
Too quick
No matter which way you sway on the subject, they should have fired him on Monday(next). This would have allowed him to complete his telethon(raises millions for charity) with enormous attention. At least some good could have come from this spectacle.
after he's completed the telethon? They waited all week to fire him, let him finish Friday with all the attention to help raise millions for charity. This point seems like common sense. I could care less about Imus, I just wonder what's coming for the other guys? I listen to 10 different stations(NY/NJ area) and hear similar rantings from hosts(white and black). This is going to be fun/scary!
Are there no serial killers in India? Would they be white as well? I think white people tend to do more of everything in this society b/c there's more of them.
There are cultural differences among our groups but they don't explain mass murders, or wouldn't there be more committed?
The Nets are at home and the Raptors have TWO injured guards. Smart money is on the Nets.
I think what the guy did was fucked up but I worry about extending the law in such a way that could be used by prosecutors unfairly, i.e. Georgia teenager serving 10 years for sex with someone in his high school. It seems the whole family lived together, payback? without bringing the law into it might have helped(he has to sleep sometime, right), just throwing it out there.
I wondered how big a difference there is b/w something and someone, these are the definitions:
someone: somebody, somebody: some person or person of importance
something: a certain unspecified thing
What if that something is a person of importance(someone), then what is the difference according to the English language.
I'm not saying you're wrong, but are you?
Tony was euphoric in that casino scene, seeing his luck change now that Chris was gone. Seems like a major plot theme to completely miss?
Interesting tactic. The Spurs also have three great players who can land on other people's feet, just saying!
there probably is something wrong with him. Anybody that doesn't want to interact with people in the outside world is probably fucked up, coming from a somewhat normal person.
"is there any possibility that Mr. Comey will be charged with divulging classified information"
That is the question which highlights the administration's run-around for, say, the 50% of Americans who don't catch on quickly or try to defend against "liberal" criticisms. You can't BS around it with dignity intact.
There is always two groups of players that fit these molds, but to be special you have to be both. Magic sat in Kareem's seat on the plane as a ROOKIE GUARD! in 1980, Bird, Jordan, Isaiah all won b/c they put it on themselves when it counted(great supporting casts, I know, but they played each other's teams). Guys like Barkley had shorter windows with good casts and ran into Jordan.
I tend to believe success at a higher level is helped by earlier success with quality competition. Magic, Jordan, Isaiah and Bird(championship game) all performed well under pressure in college. LeBron may/probably will get there, but he doesn't understand what to do yet consistently in the playoffs. Detroit has Hamilton's brilliance in big games throughout the years, maybe that's who he will learn from.
I think the election was an incredible win for the Dems. However, it took a great deal of stupidity by Republican candidates to lose those seats. With increased oversight, maybe the public sees more of the corruption and will want more Dems. Maybe without Macaca moments the public will go back to voting Rep., especially if an attack(matter of time) happens and fear again reigns. I'm not good at calling these things, though, as I figured Bush to lose twice and the Dems to come up short last time.
